Z4C holding up pretty well

Despite being a concept launched in 2005, I think the Z4C is still holding its own in design.

here's a comparo with 2 other cars that are peaking my interest right now (the vette is only a rendering though)

I still prefer the Z4C (recognizing there is an obv ownership bias)

I've always liked the Cayman. If the Z4C hadn't been $20K cheaper when I bought one in 2007 I'd have gone with the P-car.

PS. "pique"

Having owned the Cayman, it's not as much fun, and the number of engine failures (oiling issues in particular), and melted power steering systems, etc., on the Gen I, my (biased) opinion is that you made the right choice!

Yes, I think our car still looks fresh. I get "what is that comments" often, and people think it's something new.

Is the one you believe to be a vette rendering really the new ferarri fastback?

It looks pretty ferrari like

but that's the latest rendering found in the january edition of car and driver and some argue pretty close to what the vette will actually look like

The z4 couple is always going to look fresh! The interior is where it shows its age!

+1. When I first saw it, I liked the simplicity of the interior. While this is still true, it's pretty bland and dated looking now.

Spot on there. Our 2012 Golf TDI's interior, especially the plastics, and just many tiers better. Luxury car quality in fact (better than the E92 M3 I had at one point). On the other hand, which would I rather drive? Hmmm...

Knobs and buttons are in style one year and out of style the next... The simplicity/elegance of the Z4MC's interior is timeless. Same with the car's exterior design. I just took my coupe in to BMW of North Scottsdale this morning for Inspection 1 service and several people commented that they thought it was one of the most beautiful cars BMW ever built. At today's prices, it's certainly one of the best values too!

I have to agree there. And in my case, even my humble roadster is still getting great compliments from admiring folks. I think these little beasties are true keepers.

The Z4 Coupe and particularly the Z4MC (sorry I'm biased) have a very timeless yet agressive look. I can definitely see it being one of those cars like the Jaguar E-Type that will just always be considered a beautiful car

Along those lines, the correct usage is "I couldn't care less". Saying "I could care less" implies that you do care some. This is an extremely common incorrect usage.

I picked up a friend at the airport a few months ago and the first thing he said was what a great looking car my coupe was and that he loved the simple, uncluttered interior. He the cabin was what a sports car should look like!

Agree, especially without the dated Navi unit.

I purposely looked for a car w/o navi.

In hind sight I would like to have found a car with navi, so I could take it out & build a gauge pod in that spot.

I always have people thinking my car is brand new. They're always surprised to hear its 5 years old

Same here. And on top of that they think I paid way more than I did for it.
