Flossman GTR kit...
I am really considering this kit atm.. Its been a while and have done quite a bit of research into it, contacted Flossman and have had a few good emails backwards and forwards between them. Is there anyone else here who would be interested in doing a GB? Haven't quite pulled the trigger on it yet, but i am getting there. biggest hurdle will be having parts left over around my house, the wife will not like more "crap" around the place.. Id be looking at the CF stuff. Its the same kit as in this thread. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=934955 Thought thats pretty much for track car only, i still want mine to be able to run on the road. So looking for lighter weight and wide wheels to fit. also going to keep with my current rear wing and boot. The floss man site... http://www.racingparts-bmw.de/start/eng/start.htm I hear its a lot of panel work to make it look like OEM, but i figure, if not where i am living now (where labour is cheap) then when? Not entirely convinced yet, but i am getting there.. pretty sure that this is the direction where id like to take my car next.. This is with APR wing and stock boot in place. and rear shot of 2 cars.. side shot, looks like crap with silver wheels.. black on the other hand.. anyways, created this thread to start thinking and branching ideas in what would need to be done for the car to retain its OEM quality. I guess it will shed some weight using the CF parts.. anyone have any ideas, please feel free to share them.

That kit would make room for some serious track rubber! Cosmetically, not a fan of the wheel arches, at least not with the wheel widths/diamters on the cars shown. Maybe with something that filled them better?

Agreed, id be sticking to 19inch.. 255 or 265 in the front and 295 in the rears.. maybe a higher side wall might work those gaps a little, i think also those pics show at least 2 fingers of gap between the top of the tire and the arch, i wonder if that is done due to crappy roads?
Where i live, i could easily get away with 1 finger.. i think that will look much, much better straight away.

You'll need larger rubber than ^that. I have 265 up front on stock fenders.

Mate, I've seen the pics and I've seen the price.. I do prefer the GT look rather than this, but man, it is a nice piece, thats for sure.
I wish i had a second e86 M, that would be so easy to completely strip and transform it into one of these GT look alines. Now i have to come to terms with what i want to do to the interior.. Its not all as simple as it looks. Then comes the question about rubber.. semi slick? or road thread? Ian , what size would you recon would fit nicely? obviously can't tell until the stuff is on there, but just so we can get an idea? id probably like to go semi slick. Id recon the Dubai 24hr is probably a bit too close, but maybe next year?? anyone want to stick their hands up for Co-Driver? <--- Alex, looking at you mate

I hate to be that guy ... but on the orange example above the fender gaps are completely unacceptable.

pretty sure the Gap is to allow for suspension compression, no? you'd need to run incredibly stiff springs to lower the car on that kit to "acceptable gap levels" and not have major rub since the body is so flat over the wheels.

Haha I would love to test one of these.
It's a race kit so fender is acceptable. It's a plan for me too in the future! Just remember flossman packaging is awful. So I'm not sure what we could do for him to fix that.

Wasn't Flossman the guy on Seinfeld that made great furniture?
