Z4M Navigation Upgrade - Help
Hi Guys,
I have a 2006 BMW Z4M. 3.2L I drive this car in Australia. The GPS System is out of date, guessing 2006 as Roads above 2006 are not listed. Im after Australian Maps. How can i upgrade the software, ive tried Utorrent etc and checked other forum posts but the links are no longer valid. Any ideas appreciated. I can provide more info if needed to diagnose this. |

You don't need to upgrade the software. You just need a new map disk. BMW map disks outside of Europe are quite hard to come across on bit torrent network. The most cost effective method is buying a used one on ebay.

Hi all,
A related question from me. I also have an E85 Z4M Roadster, MY07. I'm not too concerned about the accuracy of the maps in my nav, but I'd dearly love for the maps to be prettier and more detailed (and in 3D?), just like you get if you buy a new BMW off the showroom floor today. So my question is this: if I replace my 2006 disc with the latest one for 2010 or 2011: 1. will that just update the map so that any new roads are included; or 2. will it add new road, AND also modernise the picture / interface? (ps I'm also from Sydney, Australia. Obviously we're not the smartest cats over here!) many thanks in advance FD |

Hey everyone,
I downloaded these Australian files last week and updated to V32 and 2010 maps. System update v.32 http://safelinking.net/p/ce6ad8f808 Maps Disc Australia / New Zealand. v16 http://safelinking.net/d/31763d4c7a Cue file. http://www.mediafire.com/?r0k132vv62k6fit You should end up with 4 files. NAV_SW.cue NAV_SW.bin Nav_DB.cue Nav_DB.bin To update to V32 burn the cue file NAV_SW.cue to a cd or dvd. I used ImgBurn which is free and works well. Insert the cd/dvd into the Nav system and turn the key to on. It will detect software, the screen will go black for a min then come up with updating ect will take a bout 2 mins and then reset itself. Eject the disck and you are done! Burn NAV_DB.cue file to a dvd to get V16 Maps. Again used ImgBurn - you want to burn as slow speed as possible to reduce errors and gps lag. Also use a decent dvd. Insert the dvd in to the Nav system and enjoy. If anyone has problems I could burn these for you for like $10 which will cover the dvds + postage.

Hey J-Factor,
Thanks heaps for the post. Unfortunately I'm tech inept, so I might take up your offer to do the dirty work for a fee. Happy to pay whatever you think is fair. I'm a brand new member so can't PM, but if you email me at [my username] at hotmail.com, I'll hit you back. Mr130- I have a stock standard '07 Sepang Bronze roadster. You? cheers FD |

Thanks Spiff. That's good enough for me. I guess if I can get the best possible nav for my car (without completely gutting it) then that is all I can ask. And it sounds like J-Factor is going to help me do that with a minimum of fuss. I should have joined up to this board ages ago!
cheers FD |

How did you go with the upgrade Nubzub?
I have a 2006 525i and am keen to upgrade the navigation. Mine just has the arrows so I'm not sure whether it will work. Last edited by Frac; 02-27-2011 at 05:33 AM. |

Navigation upgrade for BMW 525i E60 2005
Hi Guys
Did anybody find a download of anything newer than V10 for a 2005 525i for Australia /NZ. I am still on V10. Do i need to do an update to the software first before the maps as explained for the Z4? |

I was expecting more tbh, but it's pretty much the same old 2D system, except obviously for updated streets.

If you go to settings, hold menu down for 10 seconds, a new menu pops up. Scroll down and you can add perspective with the v32 software. Once selected exit out, and then on nav screen hit menu button and you can now choose between direction heading, north and 3d.

All models of Z4 share the same nav setup (and radio) as the X3 (till about 2009/10) and the same nav software was used on the e39, and e46.
