This one, that I think is what's on the car in post #40 may be a more difficult install, but might be sorta functional.
Yeah, the one in post #42 is clearly for looks only. Not sure if the one in post 40 would actually do anything either. Does look like it would cover the "vents" as mentioned earlier...

I need something shiny on the back to match my Mstache on the front!

:-)

Wow what is that exhaust in the picture? Looks awesome!

I looked it up to see what that part is and RealOEM says that it's a "cover, activated charcoal filter"? Makes no sense. Anyone know what it really is? Part #17

I love how the one in #40 looks but too bad it will probably block those vents. I'd think you could cut out some ports for those vents though.

Thanks, it's a custom muffler/tip replacement that my buddy that owns an exhaust shop came up with. It sounds good but drones a lot at low RPMs

You can always fix the drone with the J-pipe

For those interested in the diffuser I have on my car (#40), the diffuser replaces that stock plastic piece with the ducts. You would be removing that plastic piece and this aluminum one bolts up. When I was installing it I thought about the ducting on the stock plastic piece. I don't claim to be any type of aerodynamic or air flow expert but it seems like the differential would still have plenty of cooling and heat dissipation with the new diffuser. Air that travels above the aluminum diffuser would get pushed out of the grill located at the bottom of the stock bumper. There's nothing in way and it's a straight path for air. It may not be as efficient as the stock one but I can't see it really being a problem as well. Now if we didn't have the benefit of the lower ventilation of the lower grill in the rear bumper, then I'd be more concerned. So unless your car is a dedicated track car, I'm sure the diffuser will work fine.

Here's the only other pic I have at the moment:

The diffuser mounts to the two bolts on the diagonal bars next to the diff. Then there's two additional nuts in the middle of the diffuser. Lastly I used the 4 screws where the stock plastic diffuser mounted to the bumper. So it bolted right up and is very stable. It's also reversible back to the stock piece easily if needed.

After a few renderings and letting them sit for a few days, I've definitely refined them a good bit down to a few renderings that will transcribe well in carbon and will compliment the multitude of Z4M rear ends, from OE+ to heavily modded.
Any update?

I am liking the one SlipNslide has, might consider that if nothing from above.

It sort of looks like the one in the picture but it's definitely not shiny at all.

They might modify it for our cars or maybe it's a completely separate part for our cars. The IS-F one is much longer/has more fins.

It fits well. It doesn't run the entire length of the stock diffuser. It's slightly shorter and you just mount it centered.

Sorry for being so dense...the diffuser on your car is from Eurobotique. Is that specific to an M or is it a generic diffuser they sell that fits the M?

SF area. I'll probably be at the Bay Area meet this week depending on location.

Edit: I have it on good authority that it will be at Tanforan this week. I'll be there if you want to come check it out.
