Cup holder repair vs plug
Guys
Okay broke my cup holder...after hitting it for the 50th time while open with my left knee while getting OUT of the car OR right knee while getting in...the thing would not close or shall I say STAY closed. Tried to fix it but no avail and it just recently came totally out of the slot/housing! I hear there is a Euro part cover for the remaining hole left where the cup holders are which would be nice cause I just ordered the Ultimate Cup holders which fit very nicely and rest on the floor of the car now and accomodate many more variations of cups/containers you find out there or are given at various drive thru's. Thus now the search for the cup holder covers I've heard about. Anyone have a part # or link or even pic for me to use. Thanks!

I used to hit mine with my left knee also, got the plugs. It's a simple DIY, just have to be careful removing the cosmetic plug thing, it's a soft plastic. Funny man, I haven't seen anything with the "sparkletts" name on it since I lived in Santa Barbara.

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind plugging the cup holder. Why not just repair it and just not use it unless absolutely necessary rather than plugging it altogether? This way, if you do need it, it will be available. I have the ultimate cup holder, but still use the built in cup holder on occasion.

I dont usually hit it (im 6ft2) but the holding mechanism broke a few times, and I really dont use it that much. I had the passenger side fixed 2 times, and the drivers side once.

Ron, not to go off-topic, but I just got the BMW pedal set you have and noticed you have a matching dead-pedal...do you have a part # for that, or did you make it yourself?
Thanks, Chris P.S. The V1 installation looks great!

I would be paranoid about a cop being able to easily see it there if I still managed to get pulled over - having a radar detector pretty much guarantees getting a ticket from what I've seen, and I thought part of the point of the V1 was to keep it stealth.

You keep a V1 Stealth like that for people who walk by your car and not spot it, or try and spot the radar as you're driving down the road. |
