Hard time making boost in Colorado? cobb

I have gotten protuned, and it seems they have a hard time making boost, I am hitting 16-17 psi with e85. the car feels pretty strong, but I was hoping to hit 19-20 on full e85....I am FBO

What does your dc look like? Does it look like the turbos are pushing hard to hit those 16-17psi numbers?

Also, grab a log and post.

the car has 40 k on it, its been jb4'ed for 2 months and now cobb'ed and FBO for a few weeks. With the jb4 I never had any issue with boost...targeting is different I know...

Flash Cobb's OTS E30 map, do 3 WOT pulls gears 3-5, and post the 3rd WOT log. If you don't mind ?

Lets see a comparison of the two maps

Did you have the afe drop in with the JB4 prior to the COBB? I know this might sound stupid, but putting the BMS DCI's in my dad's 335 made a pretty substantial difference in spool time and power delivery.

Our car's at this altitude need all the air they can get, turbo or otherwise. The factory airbox on the N54 just doesn't cut it when it comes to that. I'm not able to pull up your logs at the moment but from what you're describing, DCI's would certainly help get more air to the engine faster allowing the turbo's to really perform.

Just my suggestion anyway.

Need to see some logs with bank 1 or 2 WGDC in addition to the WGDC after PID channel to see how hard the turbos are being pushed.

Yes I did, it was jb4 and a drop in filter...I bought a bunch of stuff for this car and put it on, just haven't updated my profile...
Dps, CAI, FMIC, Cobb protuned.
Cat back and change pipe I don't think I am going to do...

If you're running CAI now with FMIC and DPs, you definitely shouldn't be having boost issues. It'll be a bit till I get somewhere I can pull your log up but I'm thinking its a fuel issue. Original turbos @ 40K?

There is some boost limitation at altitude.

You are not going to be there. At 5280 the pressure ratio needed for 18 psi is 2.54 which is at the very tip of the compressor map. There is not enough turbine in the 10T-TD03 to hit a PR of 2.54. Best you will see is 2.4ish which is 16.3 psi-ish for your altitude. Stage 2 turbos if you want more.

and now I know what the boost set point factor is in Tuner Pro...it's the Pressure Ratio, which runs from 1.10 - 2.40. Makes sense that we can't hit a 2.54 pressure ratio as its off the map.

By the way, I was able to hit 18psi at this altitude, but you have to go very aggressive with WGDC, and then it ends up overboosting, which then results in throttle closures.

Map 7 18.5 with a drop in and 50/50 100oct/E85....I know I wasn't FBO at the time. targeting is something the cobb does....the jb4 seemed to have better control over boost

They did this to me too, I hit 17 but the car felt very doggie, unless you were at WOT...
