There are two types of clips holding it on.
clips: 51777166869
spacer clips: 07147122912

Here's the realoem link so you can look it over and decide what to replace: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...31&hg=51&fg=16

Thanks, do you think its necessary to replace them, or can I reused the old ones?

Plastic clips are pretty easy to break and a lot of the time they are really brittle so I'd go ahead and replace them if I were you. They're super cheap so there's not much reason not to. Plus, if you have new clips you don't have to worry about breaking the old ones when you're pulling them. At the very least it'll potentially save you some time.

Those yellow clips, I didn't break any of. Possible a few should be replaced if they don't grab on to the skirts tightly anymore. What was really broken on mine were the little green grommets that the yellow clips go in to

there are 22 on an e90, how many you will actually need, who knows. Probably just like 5 or 8, but I am going to replace them all.

Plastic hardware sucks, ended up ordering three sets of these too

A lot of the ones on my car are stripped out. I don't trust em. I should just embed an actual metal nut in to the spacer and use whatever bolt that fits the nut.

Don't forget about the green gormets (what holds that clip) those usually wear faster I learned that the hard way:/

I replace the yellow clips and the green grommets when I change out my side skirts - not that much $$
