Anyone wrapped armrest in suede?
So just picked up an E92 for my wife. It's at the shop right now being vinyl wrapped. I'm also have some interior pieces recovered in suede. They're now telling me that there is an issue with the armrest. She says that there's a plastic piece on the bottom that won't separate from the leather cover. Not sure how to proceed.
Has anyone recovered their armrest? I did a ton of searches and even those who have really custom interiors always have the stock armrest. I haven't found a single picture showing a recovered armrest. Is it possible on this car? I'm brand new to the BMW world so I have no idea about the details. I've only had the car 13 days and for 11 of them, it's been in the shop. Any help is appreciated. |

There was an armrest for sale on here a couple months ago that was wrapped in alcantara with a few pictures posted. After it sold, the pictures were down so I couldn't find them. Maybe if you PM the seller, BRGmatthew, he may still have them?

I bought that one. I've studied it and still can't figure out what they did. Its clearly tucked under, but I don't know how they separated the piece.

It's glued on with spray on adhesive. And then tuck it in and it glues to the leather or leatherette and now you have a suede arm rest.

Right, but how it tucks under is the issue. You have to separate the armrest so you can tuck the suede in the way the leather is. Otherwise, when you open the armrest it would look horrible with the edge just glued there.
