Maps broken after an update?

So the car tried to be cute and helpful last night and it updated the maps without even asking me first and when I got in this morning the maps won’t work. I wouldn’t even care too much since I don’t use the BMW maps that look straight out of 2007 but I rely on the dash map view which is now blank

Anyone knows how to fix this or reset the maps in the settings? Thanks

I would try holding the volume button pressed for about 30 seconds and reboot the iDrive. Hopefully that will sort it.
