Thanks for your thoughts. How did it feel? Did it feel heavy or pretty nimble? I am sure it felt fast.

Car is super nimble and responsive; I wasn't able to feel the weight at all (unlike the iX), I test drove it today and it surpassed my expectations when it came to handling.

did you notice the exterior door handles are difficult to grip to open the door?

I noticed this immediately, it's easy to unlock the door with the handle, but to use the handle to swing the door open is when my fingers slip off the handle, forcing me to touch the window or body of the car. I'm OCD when it comes to finger prints, so maybe I just have to get over it.

Other than that, I LOVE the car. It's well built, HK sound system was great (I had reserves with the sub moving to the rear hatch, but the majority of the bass notes came from the lower door speakers and it pumped out rich bass), the seats were fine even though the passenger seat lacked lumbar. The i-drive 8 and the touchscreen is SLICK! very responsive, literally almost no lag. But I found myself using the i-drive knob 99% of the functions.

I was only able to stationary demo it :-( hopefully I can drive it soon.

I did not notice that and I opened and closed all doors a couple of times. All 4 doors opened easily without me having to put my arms on anything else besides the handle.

The demo unit I test drove had very few added options: HUD , black sapphire paint and premium package. So I didn't experience the upgraded sound, but I was mostly focused on the feel of the car and how it drives / handles. And boy oh boy that was brilliant, it feels more responsive than my 2020 m340i xDrive. Very happy I got to drive it.

From a visual perspective they are better than previous BMW handles but I’m not sure they are as good to use. I suppose I will know very soon.

Ahh, could you imagine all the -30degree weather days and having to take your gloves off to touch the display so you don't freeze your ass off?

Just a little bitterness on my end but in all seriousness, they could have left a couple buttons for those seat warmers...

Not a fan of subscriptions, and I really hope in their future vehicles we won't have to pay for seat warmers and all the other features of a current day car…

A nice looking vehicle in my opinion and appears to be a pleasant drive

Three ways to solve the problem you describe:

1) You can use automatic climate control rules, you choose the temperature threshold and the car can turn on the steering wheel and seat heating automatically to the level you desire
2) you can just tell your car to turn on seat heating and steering wheel heating "hey bmw, turn on seat warmer"
3) you can do exactly what you described, take your gloves off and keep turning on the seat and steering wheel heater and the car will recognize the pattern and eventually ask you if you want that done automatically.

Cheers!

precondition it while on shore power (i.e. your home charger) so it's toasty for when you leave

imagine using the exterior door handle now with that same scenario with gloves on

The handle itself is a high-quality feeling piece, its just the area where your fingers go is small. It's not deep enough to get a good grip. I observed the same thing when others tried to open the door, very strange. I thought some of the youtube reviewers were nit-picking/exaggerating, but it's not as functional as past/current BMW's.

Okay, i'll end my rant now on the exterior door handles. My G20's door handles are more functional /that is all

Don't forget you can set climate control rules to turn on seat heater automatically below certain outside temps. I'll honestly be on the moment you hit the start button, ready to go.
