The i4 seems great, it could be our family's next vehicle after waiting to see how they roll out. But I can't quite get past the grill... I wonder if those will grow on me after five or so years of seeing them? Maybe a mid-production face lift (literally) to tone it down?

We have an iX on order so the grill has already grown on me. LOL. This one was wife's call.

There is an aftermarket grill that greatly tones it down that I recall seeing on this forum. It basically adds a plastic horizontal piece to connect the bumper and split the grill into quarters. It really improves the appearance.

Yep, very good review. Even the writer said the i4 beat Tesla by "an incredibly slim" margin.

It comes down to what you are favoring. My over simplified conclusion is that. For build quality and ride comfort, Apple CarPlay, BMW wins here. For efficiency, tech, supercharging network, it's the Tesla.

I do think the practicality of the hatch with the i4 is a great selling point but it's smaller compared to the 440iGC. The Model Y's is a hatch which is favored by many who are going for the Tesla.

It's a good sign for BMW's EV program. Clearly there is no way for them to beat Tesla's charging network, but BMW is playing well to their strengths.

Like you, I have a problem with the grille. I am thinking that if otherwise I really want one of the BMWs, then an all blacked out car will help the grille disappear.

They said the Tesla was faster. Did they do timed runs? Can someone paste the test results? Hope it wasn't on those damp conditions again.

I'm excited for the i4. The base model is not too unreasonably priced compared to its class. AFAIK, the sales numbers indicate high interests. I wonder how much it is eating into Model 3 sales in the coming year.

Good on BMW for offering a solid EV product!

I have never liked Audi bass mouth grill or Lexus (2013+) predator grill, but BMW's new face has already grown on me and many others. I do wish the accent colors did not highlight the bad.

I am looking forward to seeing interior in person. I am more concerned with the tombstone display as well as decreased physical buttons and harder to navigate IDrive (in motion); I do not like talking to my car.

I am also really looking forward to an i5 with 50-100 more mile range. Having to stop so frequently on a longer drive is frustrating.

The BMW's new face houses active sensor array vertically, so it is more functional than aesthetic to my eyes.

Yeah 400-500 miles of range@4000lb will be very nice, hopefully it will be available in 5 years.
