When developing the BMW i4 M50 – the first fully-electric performance car from BMW M GmbH– the focus was on a precise and superior chassis combined with long-distance comfort. Racing driver Charlie Martin was joined by David Ferrufino, the project manager leading the development of the BMW i4 M50, for tips on the features to maximize at the track. The vehicle and driving dynamics were tested around the rain soaked Salzburgring racing circuit, and the BMW i4 M50 passed with flying colors!

I dig it. It's screaming for a drop, maybe some different wheels, and I'd take all of those ridiculous M badges off of it. I'm going to hold onto my F30 for a few more years, and I could definitely see myself replacing it with an i4.

I've been configuring this car every once in a while… first electric to get me excited and I actually see it potentially happening. Good job BMW.

I have been too. I'm not a fan of any of the wheel options, I think this car would look incredible with a good suspension on it and some mesh wheels ala the F8X Competition.

Tanzanite blue and Tacora red interior… I actually like the big bi-colour wheels offered here in Canada (bmw.ca). Are they available in the US? Car looks so good!

Love those wheels too, but spec them and get a deal world range of less than 200 miles which is pitiful.

Those wheels are definitely a step in the right direction. I didn't see them on the US configurator, but I can try again.

Leaving aside feelings about the snout, this car would be a good option if the range were better. Its HP is similar to a Lucid Air Pure (480 for the Lucid) at a similar price but the Lucid has a 400 mile range.

In my case I only have a 20 amp dedicated circuit to my clipper creek charger and to get more I would have to tunnel through my lawn to upgrade from 225 amp to 400 amp. So the Lucid would allow me to regularly top off overnight but hit a fast charger periodically to start me off with more juice.

Honestly would have been nice to see a non-cinematic hot lap with it to see how it actually handles.

Car looks good though - but this video really just doesn't show anything more than a commercial would.

Same impression. I will however wait until Year 2 production to give BMW an opportunity to resolve inevitable first year issues.

Order now and you will have to wait that long anyway! My car is expected in August… 9 months from my order last month.
