I am planning to purchase the Remus cat back exhaust, which retains the secondary cats. I plan on experimenting with and without the cats. I know it'll be louder with the cats removed.
Since my goal is to DIY, does anyone know where I can purchase the flanges that connect to the downpipes? Looking for something like this with the same diameter pipe as OEM... |

I'm in the same boat and it looks like Remus actually does make the secondary cat delete. Not sure how to purchase it though. But here's a photo of them and you can see them in this video by shmee150. Hoping vendors will chime in.

I've seen that video and that's where I got the idea from. Hopefully, it won't cost an arm and a leg. Wish Remus would have just extended their exhaust all the way to the downpipes without additional hardware.

They do... But not in the US. Blame the ongoing crackdown on defeat devices

Supersprint makes pieces. They have a part to replace the secondary cats that you might be able to use in front of the Remus if the pipes are same diameter
