Dropped in the race chip to my G82 today

Plug A was a f**king pain in the ass, trying to make the connection under the water pump.

Only tried map 6 and Butt dyno says yeehaw..

will have some data from track day tomorrow. with some acceleration times

Stock I'm getting 3.81s 0-60 and 8.04s 0-100 via laptimer.

Any feedback from your track day? Assuming you got your day in at Eagles canyon?

I did 4 session stock and then last session on map 7. I will provide more detail on overall track performance but I had my fastest lap with the chip on. Could have also been just incremental improvement on technique, so I have to look at the data and compare acceleration and top speeds to see if the chip gave me more speed or acceleration in the straights.

One thing I also need to research more was I felt the shifts were later with the tune on. Like it was shifting 500 rpms higher and later thus out of the optimal power band. Its hard to tell on track exactly whats going on so ill need to mess with it to see what's happening. My perceived impact was delayed shifts and I ended up grabbing the paddle for upshifts in that session vs letting the car manage upshifts and only paddling down (which the car did pretty well on its own)

My brakes and tires held very well. We did a session in pouring rain and I was easily making my way around.

Ok I looked at the data in laptimer.

Definitely pulling more Gs in the straights.

Red is tuned, blue is my fastest untuned lap.

If I could post videos I could show in the dot map that the red dot starts opening a gap on blue in every straight..so the chip is definitely shaving time here..

beachBmmr thank you brother for taking the time to break that down! Very, very impressive out of the piggy back. Good to see the verifiable delta between the maps as well!

With me being local to you- I am very eager to see how your experience continues in terms of consistency and your overall enjoyment with the racechip. I’ve JB4’d 2 vehicles previously, but am open to both platforms at this time.

May I ask what drew you toward the racechip over the JB4? The owner, Terry was so helpful 10ish years ago with my FBO N54. Either way, super stoked for you and your outing! She ran fantastic and also glad to see you have some tread and pad life left to spare- cheers!

I went with Race chip because the m8 guys were having good results with it. I had BM3 stg2 e30 in my 440 and was comfortable with all the time folks had with that config and it ran fine and was really fast on track (could not corner for shit tho)

Imo this motor is too new and I don't want to be plowing the road finding the failure point running Ethanol blend during 2 hours of punishment on the track. A little over-boost is as far as I want to go right now until theres more data to see what fails where..

When the DME gets unlocked and we can dial everything in, Ill go that route. But again tuning for a few hole shots a week is not the same as regular track work that builds heat and pressure much higher over a session. I need to drive it home..

Very nice comparison.
Glad you like how this simple piggy back tune gives.
Bunch of my F90 M5 and F8x M8 customers are loving it.
Even the early adopter on G8x M3/M4 been happy with it too.
