Interior / exterior cleaning
I would love to get a thread going with what people use for interior and exterior upkeep. There are so many different materials inside I'm not sure what I should use on what. Sorry if this has already been done in a different forum.
A few ideas on what to add: Interior Everyday cleaner for trim/dash/seats Leather cleaner/conditioner/protectant Carpet cleaner Brushes / towels /etc Exterior Shampoo Waterless shampoos Wax / spray way Coatings Anything else you feel appropriate I have used Carpro products for exterior in the past and have had great success. Shampoo and Reload. I used Griots interior cleaner in my Tesla and liked it but wasn't sure if it was good for seats or leather trim on dash. I will have real wood in my x7 and not sure what to use on it. Thanks! Last edited by kdesign7; 04-21-2019 at 12:53 PM.. |

I got a ceramic pro coating done. To be honest, it looked great before I dropped it off—those guys could have just spent an hour waxing it and told me they did the top level ceramic coating for the 2 grand I paid. I suppose we’ll see how it holds up over time...
Otherwise I’m a big fan of the instant detailer sprays. Some of them have wax in them and some don’t. But they’re great for keeping it looking new and freshly waxed constantly. I should note—I got the ceramic done specifically because mine is carbon black, which is gorgeous but can be a total swirl magnet. We’ll see. |
