Ordered new rubber today....
Finally decided I have had enough of the OEM RFT's on my Coupe and told Tire Rack to send me a replacement set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. They had my sizes in stock, so I should be seeing a pile of tires in my garage by at least Thursday.
I also ordered a set of items from Slime to complete the package - a very compact inflater device: Power Sport Tire Inflator and a tire repair kit: Deluxe Reamer Plugger Kit Looking forward to the transformation! I have thought about ditching the RFT's ever since I test drove a 3.0si Coupe with the Sports Package and the moment is nearly at hand

Wow, you must be ecstatic! I have thought about what to do when the time comes to replace my RFT's. However, I think I will always stick to them, if for anything, for the peace of mind. Make sure you post pics of your new rubber.

Ooohh... PS2s. I've been fantasizing between those and the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s. No $$, though...
I await your review! How much was the set? |

$1075 including shipping....
You don't need these as much as I do - at least you got some reasonable specimens in the first place. The RFTs just feel lifeless to me.

In the event that you need to use the plug kit, is the idea for this to be temporary fix or left on tire semi-permanently. I'm curious because I had a tire patched this way one time and I could feel the imblance of tire (of course maybe it wasn't patched well). |

Includes tires? That is the price for the tires. The compressor and sealant were $40 through Amazon.

Fully agree - when my previous cars (all heavily tracked) tires had almost any kind of repair a replacement tire was ordered. Wheels that feel just fine at 60mph don't always translate to a smooth ride at 120+ out on the track. I don't have a lot of faith in repairs done by most tire places and my own repair efforts will be farther down the scale from that.

However, I've also used fix it flat a couple of times and figured that it would be a messy patch, maybe tire shop wouldn't repair anyway, so I figured that I would drive until it was time to get new tire. Not recommended for sure, in fact, fixitflat claims that the tire can become flammable. Anyway, it worked successfully. |

Well - I have read this several times before and basically felt like folks were over exaggerating the result of changing the tires out.
They weren't kidding - the difference is absolutely amazing! It simply feels like a completely different car and I love it
