This project is two years in the making, you name it I've replaced or upgraded it. Search the forum it you like. Last piece of the puzzle was the Turner Motorsports CSL intake, Euro catless headers and a TTFS Alpha N tune. She's finally where I wanted her to be.

Nice! When did you order yours and when did you actually receive it? I’m asking because the CF weave is going a different direction than mine right there by the section that meets the oil filter housing

I ordered it last year when the pre order went live and received it in June. All the fittings had to be re glued and the nose cone had to be trimmed a little to clear the hood. Also the Turner IAT sensor will not work for the Z4, we had to use one from an E34 M5.

Negative, tune was done remotely by Frank but I may slap it on a dyno in the spring for the fun of it. Should put down 330hp.

Oh ok I placed my order in May and got it in august so I’m guessing those issues were resolved (I hope!). I saw on FB where you stated you paid $700 for the TTFS alpha N tune. Did you go to their facility or they sent you something to do it yourself?

My local Indy worked with him to do it remotely.

Awesome!
A question from the unlearned....it the new CF airbox receiving air intake from the engine compartment or is it ducted to the kidney grille like the OEM box.

The OE ducting does flow air to the front of that cone.

I also have the RPI air scoop in the grill so that helps a little bit.

I'm jealous!! Working towards a CF intake myself after I take care of some other items. Are there any driveability issues?

Congrats and enjoy.

Its doesn't having ducting say like the snorkel on the OEM CSL intake. That said the OE ducting that hooked up to the stock intake does point directly into the mouth of the Turner CSL intake.

I tried to get a pic showing this...Please excuse the dirty engine bay

At least on mine, it is. if I revert all back to stock, it works. the MAF is key for the ECU to control the engine throttle requests. In my car, using an Alpha N tune even screws the ability of ISTA+ to run a VANOS test, which includes holding rpm at 2000rpm. For ISTA+ to run a VANOS test using my Alpha N Tune, I need to "manually" hold rpm at 2000 using the gas pedal, then the test procedure works. This all means that the ECU is not able to drive the throttle actuator, so some of the logic for sure doesn't work.

This could be an issue of my map (EPIC), but of all companies I asked to (Evolve, EPIC, TTFS), no one gave me a straight answer. There are people who said their CC work, but those have been just comments without actual details or confirmation, mind you, when I asked the guy who sold me the car he said it was working (LOL) and it may be something else that happened after the sale, but when I actually called him on the phone to have a detailed chat about it, he said that he really did not use CC much and that he could not remember trying to use it after the CSL conversion. I know this as a fact as I have tested both setups back and forth on my own car, so I know the Alpha tune can screw it up as the ECU is not fully programmed to not be a compromise.

In the BMW TIS documentation, it is said that the MAF sensor is a key element of the engine control, and is one of the first things to check if CC does not work.

I just finished installing mine about a month ago and have been driving around for ~1500km under a Severn Tune. Could not be happier with both the TMS box and Josh at Severn.

from my experience of test driving a car with an Evolve box, and then installing a Gruppe M box on my car, they're within 10% of the same sound level and performance. Maybe there's a 50hp peak gain somewhere on the more expensive setup, but the torque difference was not really felt
