Just assumed a leased Z4

Well I've been looking at selling my Supercharged Corvette Z06 but while looking for something a bit more docile and refined I ran across a nice little Z4.

I ended up with a 2005 Z4 2.5i Step/auto, Premium pkg, wind deflector net, premium sound, luggage rack, blue tooth w/ a lease turn in date of MAR08. Total remaining miles 11,000.

Car is in perfect shape. I assumed the sellers lease for the payments of 308.00 per month plus lease transfer cost (450.00).

I think I ended up with a pretty good deal. I'll basically get to "test" the Z4 to see if I really like it and if I do maybe graduate up to a Z4M.

Plus I'll be keeping the Z06 as well ... for the time being that is.

My first question - where do I go for wheels? These stock wheels are ...

Wheels for 5 months would be pretty pointless. If you do get wheels M6 replica wheels look pretty badass on these cars!

I do hope to pickup another Z4 at the end of this lease. I just jumped on this one because it was cheap.

Here are the pics of the actual car - either way I don't like busy wheels.

I can't quite make out the model numbers in your picture but it appears to be a 2.5i. The wheels in those pictures appear to be the stock 16" Style 104 that are standard on the non-sport 2.5i. The ones on the white car picture are the 17" Style 106 that come on the 2.5i Sport Package car.

If you actually got the 3.0 non-sport the wheels must have been changed since delivery. Your pictures show the 16" wheels but a 3.0i should have 17s. Probably not a big deal since it is leased and you want to change the rims anyway, but make sure you don't have to pay up for stock wheels at lease termination if they are not stock and also make sure you get the right value for having 16" rims on a car that normally has 17" OEM tires/rims.

Uh no offense or trying to call you out, but that's a 2.5i, not a 3.0i. No sport pack either. It even says 2.5i right on the side, I can even see that in the side picture.

Opps just saw that I typed 3.0. it is a 2.5i

I would put the stock wheels back on the car once I turn it in - at that point I'd be looking to get into something else. I'd probably sell the M6 reps too.

Hopefully by March 08 we'll know more about the 1 series ... or 2002 whichever you want to call it.

the m6 reps look sharp, but if you're at all concerned about weight, they're going to be at least as heavy, if not heavier, than those stockers.

when i switched out my ellipsoids for a set of oz wheels from tirerack.com, i dropped almost 10lbs per corner (7+ per wheel, and a couple going from runflat to non-runflat). losing 40lbs of unsprung weight makes a noticeable difference behind the wheel

thanks albailey. I'm not much concerned with performance to be honest. I just want something to fart around in. I have a Supercharged Z06 to compliment the lack of balls my little 2.5 will have.
