2008 M Coupe on BMWUSA site

Not sure if anyone else noticed this was up. I had ordered my 2008 through Pentagon back in June for a September 08 delivery, but decided to change it to an April 08 delivery when I will be back in Germany for my R&R. My order was for the Interlagos Blue with black interior/carbon leather trim, but am having second thoughts. I was leaning towards the silver/grey with with Imola red/carbon trim. However, I noticed that the silver/grey is no longer an option and appears to be replaced with the space grey. So basically I have 2 questions:
1. How does space grey compare to silver/grey?
2. Does anyone have pics of the siver/grey with Imola interior/carbon trim?

I have tried to search the threads for this color combo and could not find any good pics. I can not get a good feel from the limited shot provided on the BMW site. I would go to the dealer myself, but hard to do from Iraq.

I appreciate any feedback.

thanks for the heads up, looks like pricing is exactly the same... I got Interlagos blue with black, but I think this is a common color. Good lucking finding good pics of the other combos you're looking at.

silver grey is the darkest one (charchoal), space grey is lighter (gun metal)

silver grey would look much better on a Z4 Coupe. the space grey was nice on the E92.

if a colour is gone in the choices you can still order it. your salesman can find what the colour code is (i think it's just a number in the vehicle ordering code)

Silver Gray, Space Gray, and Titanium Silver all look great with Imola interiors.

I do like black, but in Germany it would be too hard to keep clean and you know it is not so easy to wash it at the house as the Germans frown on this. And when I leave Germany I am hoping to call Florida home, and not sure I want a heat absorbant color. We just bought an XC90 that is silver grey and I really like the color. But I would really like to see some pics of the Imola interior if anyone has any. I am not sure about the increase as I am purchasing through Pentagon. Although from the deals I have been hearing on here, not sure Pentagon is that great of a deal anymore. But, such a nice car I dont really care about $1k + or -

I live in Florida with a black car and even black/black is livable. Every car color gets way too hot. 20% tint and a sunshade make things bearable.

why would the Germans frown upon washing your car?

They are, hands down, the biggest:
1. neat freaks
2. car enthusiasts

one thing you should do is get the Permagard treatment right when you get the car delivered. with it, you only wash your car with water and a sponge. it requires an annual coating and it's also available in the US.

Ditto! My car sits outside while I work everyday (unless it is really hot out and I ride my motorcycle) and my car is still beautiful.

"why would the Germans frown upon washing your car?

They are, hands down, the biggest:

3. Also the biggest tree huggers and environmental freaks.
Heaven forbid some road grime get into their eco system. They are huge on the drive thru car washes, where the water is filtered.

So, I am guessing this must not be a very popular color combo since I have yet to see any pics posted.

A couple things. If you buy from Pentagon you'll get at least 5000 off of sticker. And I had the car in germany and south carolina. In germany there are plenty of elephant washes out there. I had 2 not far from post in Wiesbaden, if they aren't busy you can take your time and mit wash it, and pay for the water. In south carolina sure it gets hot, but with red interior and the coupe's great AC it didn't take more than a minute or 2 to cool it down, even after it sat in the sun all day.

Good luck and get home safe man.

You got it the other way around. Silver gray is much lighter with a blue tinge to it. On a sunny day you could mistaken it for a titanium silver. Space gray looks darker and more of a true gray.
