Picked up 04 3.0... Hood Lower On Driver??

hey everyone.... just noticed on my cpo z4 that the hood is noticeably lower on the drivers side than the passengers side, there is a significant "finger drop" when sliding your finger from the side fender onto the hood on the driver side vs the passenger side.... any reason for this?? car has clean carfax and is cpo so I assume no accident? its lower the entire run of the driver side hood from the windshield down to the front bumper

that is not normal...

and

don't for a second believe that because the carfax ix clean that it has not been in an accident...

and cpo'ed does not mean no accident either...

have the car inspected by a good body shop, get an idea of what is wrong and then confront the dealer....

Yeah, definitely not normal. I have friends that work in shops that don't report stuff so you wouldn't see it on any reports. Luckily I have never needed to use that service...knock on wood.

IMHO there are two things I would check first. There is two rubber spacers that attach to the hood, one on either side. If one is gone this could be the problem. If not the spacers, with the hood lifted, there are two adjustments in the front near the fan. These adjusters have a nut at the bottom. Rotate the nut 1/2 turn, this will release the lock feature. Once the lock is off, lift or push in the post of the adjuster ( it is not treaded ) then re lock the adjuster and try the fit at that point. Adjust until you get the results you are looking for. Hope this helps.

I did not know about the adjuster but I am almost sure from what you describe it is not the spacer
