made a two tone interior tan/black actually copied the red/black oem interior color scheme

started from this

removed all interior almost

carpet installed

now the seats , this is how the were with ugly fabric back panel

rear panels removed, useless map pocket delete and fabric with old foam removed

1/4 foam applied and black vinyl attached

assembled seat with black seat control housing :

now to the door panels got black ones

with some magic now matching the seat color

and almost finished product missing one console still

if you have any questions let me know will share with what i know

Nice contrast
Consider changing up the brushed aluminum to tie it all together.

Quite a few options with hydro printing. Possibly one of the lighter wood grains or burl woods would match with the light leather colors....

Did you swap in a 6 speed transmission while you were at it? I like the look of the shift knob.

Looks really good. I have an 04 Z4 with the two tone red-black. As I recall, many of the 05's had all black door cards. I really like the two colour look.

Looks good! I am in the process of completing the same thing in my coupe. Regarding the door panels, does the leather door card just pop out to where you can swap it onto the black door panels or is there some additional work involved? Not sure if I should get new panels or try vinyl spray.
Thanks!

Nice work. Is it just me, or did BMW actually produce interiors like this -- specifically black carpet with lighter colored seats? I see one in the 2006 brochure.

Thanks!
i had a big NO NO when i thought i could do the leather panel swap from tan to black door panel its honestly impossible without ruining the door panel as leather panel is melted all over the perimeter and around speaker and door latch into door panel like continuos plastic weld

no i didnt do a six speed manual gearbox swap all i did is bought manual transmission boot with plastic trim for it and bought aluminum shifter ball from ebay, BTW all electronics is still underneath the manual boot as if you get rid of them everything will work except the M/S mode when you shift manually + and - gears

P.S. i actually have this shifter not used as i upgraded to bigger brushed aluminum ball instead of a chrome

I think that cars manufactured for Europe were available in a range of flashier colors and interior treatments, including two tone, that the North American market never saw.

More details on the manual boot?? Looks great. I'm not fully understanding why the M/S option doesn't work??

M/S fully works you just have to transfer all electronics from underneath automatic bezel as i first run without it and iot worked fine but no m/s after i unclipped that PRND light and small electronic board from bezel and just connect it back and hide it underneath the manual boot and everything was working like before just you have that manual look
