Wtb 2004 E85 Amp
Looking to buy an OEM 2004 2.5i E85 Amp for the sound system. Water got into the trunk and completely ruined it. Thanks! |

Should distinguish which system you have
10 speaker Carver or 6 speaker I believe.

check by vin. There are 2 10speaker systems and 1 6speaker system. (although I think that last one doesnt have a seperate amp)
A vin checker will give you the factory option codes.

No you need to use a proper bmw vin checker where the last 7 digits should be filled in.
That will list a factory option code (for instance 677) with description. The decoder you're using is obviously junk as there is no 8 speaker system on the e85 platform With that option code and the other data of your car you can see in the ETK what exact amp you have, so what exact partnumber. And thats what you want to know if you want to replace it. In the ETK you can see what exact partnumbers are compatible with the part you have (most parts have more 'generations'). If you already know the partnumber you can look that up too in the ETK.

I'm in the middle of a full rpelacement of my factory sound system. I have the 10 speaker system with Carver subs (and the trunk mounted amplifier). Stereo was working when i pulled it a month or so ago.
