While my steering wheel is in decent shape, after a new shift knob, new shift boot, and repairing my seat bolsters, I decided to finish the interior refurb and get a new steering wheel. Can't wait to install it! I'll be putting my old M wheel up for sale soon if anyone's interested.

I bought the 07 3.0si with sport package for my wife a month ago. It has 67K on it. In that time Added BT and a Homelink module, Wheels America refurbed the wheels, new tires, pads and rotors and a new set of Koni's on the way. Oh clay barred and ceramic coated the paint. She says I bought it for something to do. Seems I've had it on the rack more than on the ground. Almost done. Well never done I guess. Really, it's her car.

928 Motorsports Vortech impeller for increased compressor RPM and a Boost Limiter Valve (BLV).

The BLV is a monster.
For reference the impeller is approx 5" diameter.

pokeybritches Josh is going to be an even busier boy this spring.

I don't let the car sit in the sun and bake for the paint to fade and trap moisture behind the bra. This bra is for long distance trips only! In Addition, I detail my car every other week from wax job to paint correction if needed. Then it sits in a nice shaded garage.

My biggest issue with the Z4 Sport is the ride height. The roads are rough here in SoCal specially in DT LA, I have to really go out of my way to avoid scraping the front bumper. I'm glad I no longer live there.

It's not the sun that does the damage with a vinyl bra like that. It's the wind pushing back and forth at speed that scrapes it up. Paint correcting too often isn't a good thing as it removes a bit of clear coat every time you paint correct.

The Z is low no matter what suspension you have (although, you do have the advantage of not having those "fangs" sticking down!). I've been on many, many road trips with various car clubs and you can imagine how I feel running behind Vetts and 911s with sticky steam rollers throwing up countless gravels. Amazingly enough, my hood is pretty clean from rock chips. It's the front bumper that gets pelted with debris/gravels and takes the majority of the beatings (my sandblasted front bumper is proof of that).

So, if you're worried about rock chips on the hood, I would rather put a strip of those clear bra and replace it every couple of years rather than strapping on a vinyl bra.

I only do paint correction when necessary for that reason as said on previous post. I'm familiar with paints I used to paint my own cars years ago and still do if time permits. I started with single stage to 2 stage down the road. I painted this bumper on my Z I know how thick my clear coat is.

Obviously, I keep the bra tight enough not to move around and clean so the clear coat doesn't scratch.

Regarding the "Fangs" it came with car, but is soft and has no affect in generating down force to scrape the bumper. The scrapping issues are all low speed related such as entering parking lots and general city driving.

The Z is low regardless what model we know that but that 1/2 inch can make a big difference. Iv'e had Porsche/ Audi/ Mercedes 2 seaters the Z is probably the lowest car I've had stock.

Debis can come from anywhere and land on multiple areas of the car at anytime when driving, my new windshield that I posted here is the proof of that.

I get you're against vinyl bra that's your choice but PPF/ Clear bra is far from perfect, the adhesive can and will eat away at the clear coat. Ive seen this happen at the body shop over and over.

You have your opinion and I have Mine, so best regards.

Got the girlfriend her first BMW. Took delivery after work so it was fairly dark.

It took a year plus but I finally got her into cars. And it just so happened that she wanted an E85 Z4 so we have two now.

Thank you. She only wanted a Merlot Z4 and I looked for a 3.0i manual Z4 but those are hard to find. Last week after her dentist appointment I told her we were going to look at a car.

She didn't want to drive it and then reluctantly she went on an excruciatingly short drive, got out and said she really liked it.

The contrast Dream Red seats is awesome and may have had something to do with her decision.
