apptest, while editing our F97/98 Members' Wheel and Tire thread's OP with another entry addition, I noticed the edit window is now markedly reduced in width from the native format:

Checking to see if it was somehow related to the size of the post (this is the 'Champion of text character count' post as you recall ), I checked a shorter post just below and it also has the narrowed width in edit mode as well:

This is a new issue as I've edited many within the new format, so something has changed very recently? And note the smaller size of the first image shared - not sure why it isn't the same size as all three were formatted exactly the same at 1200 x 900 size. I even tried cancelling the post and starting fresh and the first image always downsizes? If there is an image size limit that then triggers a re-sizing, it would seem that same ratio reduction should be kept on all images being added in a post to keep uniformity in size, or is this a purposeful direction?

Tried to clean up the post I just shared but Edit window continues to not show 'WYSIWYG' as it has been doing in the newer format. The final two images appearing in the post above should've appeared where the two 'xxxx.jpg' text lines are. But when I try to edit here is what I see -

About the images not showing properly, there is something wrong for sure. Do you remeber your workflow (from A-Z) from the very first time you posted it, the edit (and what buttons you pressed in the editor) all the way to the end, so I can try to do the same on my end and then fix ti

EDIT: I might be able to re-produce what you did. I started by post and inserted the image inline into the post, but I dont press submit. I navigate away or reload the page and then come back to my pre-filled in draft. there I then press submit (so technically I never uploaded the image). is that what you did?

In the next two posts I'll try two methods: one method being to load all 3 images by 'browse files' then complete all text, then pull up the images one-by-one and place after different sentences, until all three are loaded into the post; second method being to type, then load one image after that text, then type again, then add another image after that second text set, and so on. This might show the difference, for I often times will pre-load all the images I want to share and then edit the text around them depending on how the flow of the images appear, but occ I will just add the images after I complete a sentence or paragraph in the post.

It hasn't ever been a problem before, so this'll be a chance to see if the order of uploading and placing images matter.

Trial one - loaded all images first before typing by using browse images, finding folder on PC as I always do, selecting image and upload and it populates below this editor. Then, after typing this, I added the front view image here by pulling it up and placing two lines down:



As I type this in the new post window, I see a small image of the frontal view X3MC on a track (above), and the rear view X3MC image rural highway immediately below this text line. Note that after adding the first image the text cursor is no longer viewable so I don't know where I am, but after adding the second image the cursor becomes available to the bottom right edge of the larger (second image).

Now I'm going to add the third X3MC image of front qtr view by the hangar:


And once again the cursor disappears, so I am typing below the third image, at least in this new post writer frame. Let's see how it looks when I submit it.

So it is still not WYSIWYG as it was before. It doesn't like to have all three images loaded at once and then pulled up in specific order it seems, and it is defaulting to labelling the jpeg where the actual second image should be, and then places it at the end. And the mystery of why the cursor disappears is the first time I've ever seen this with any editor over the years, including while using this new format.

Let me go ahead and try to upload the screen grabs of my post attempt which I just shared, this time by trying method two, loading and placing only one image at a time.

Here should be the first screen grab showing the little image at the top and the large image placed right below it:

So after placing just this one image I once again lose the cursor, even before I have even uploaded a second image... Now I'll add two more line spaces and try to upload the second image from the PC file and place at the bottom picture holder slot:

At least in the editor I can see the two images I have tried to upload. Still no cursor to identify a line but once I start typing it appears below this image. Now I'll add the third screen grab of my post order after uploading the third image:



Still no cursor, but now the third has been uploaded and all three images are above this line. Will see what it looks like...

Test of two methods complete: doesn't matter if I upload all three then pull up and place in already written text, or if I try to place text and then specifically load each one separately from the PC file and then place. And the loss of the cursor repeatedly is also interesting once images are loaded.

Doesn't happen with this as I just type text.

{Edit four minutes after the two sentences above} - apptest , the edit dialog box is now full screen and not narrow width far-left placed, so at least in this one Edit attempt that issue looks corrected.
[Edit 2, seven minutes after the two sentences above] - I also tested editing the large OP of the Members Wheel & Tire thread just now, and it is also back to full screen - excellent!

Just confused about the order of events. In the first post you uploaded 3 images and then wrote the text then did a straight insert of 3 images after the text was written and one of the images failed, is that correct? No edits were made after to bring the error?

Another round of testing as I'm now confused as well.

All three images uploaded to the post and pulled up from the sub-image holding area by dragging and dropping -- order and sizing remained consistent.

Edited the post by removing the images from the body of the editor (not the sub-menu holding area as it said deleting the attachment will delete it from the Forum permanently (as these have been used in my G97 thread was concerned that it meant they would also be deleted from that thread or wherever they may also be residing which I don't want) - so that begs another question, is it possible to delete images from a post but not the Forum as they are given identifiers now rather than the name of the image?. I added all text only to the now blank edited post (but the images still in sub-menu), and then could pull them up and place in between paragraphs correctly without sizing or ordering errors.

Even if I remove all of my text and do not place the images back up into the thread, the images still show though, but this time in the order as shown in the sub-menu, so I guess one does have to delete them completely by clicking the image's 'x' (which I will if you guarantee they won't also be deleted in my other threads?).

Not sure this helps as I'm honestly confused now, but just trying to report this isn't how it was working so maybe you've seen enough on your side to catch something?

TBH I have no clue what is going on, but there is for sure a problem since I do see those error'd out inline attachments. If you find a way to reproduce the issue let me know, because I have a feeling the fix is very easy.

PS. Pressing X will instantly delete the image from the server, but just for that post, not for other posts. Even though the image might be the same, its considered as two different images if you re-attach them to a new post

Max Well I might have found one reason for the issue, I just made some changes, see if it's improved for you? you will have to make sure you dont have the old version of the editor. I changed the filename so the browser should be getting you the new one but incase if it doesnt you can try reloading the page by hold shift or ctrl and pressing the reload icon with your mouse

Thank you for clarifying that deleting an image from a post will only delete that specific use case and not from any other posts in which it may be used - helpful to know.

So for this trial to see if improvement noted as you requested, I'll share some text and then upload a few random images to see how it goes.



I chose the middle of the three images, and tried to just drag and drop it on the line, but that made the cursor disappear again, so I used the '+' to 'Insert inline' at the bottom right of the image in the lower sub-folder image holding area and it inserted fine. Next, I'll choose the third image in the lower grouping:



That worked perfectly as well by clicking the '+' again. And the final image, which is the first in the grouping below waiting to be added, will also be added with the '+':



This final image, although of similar pixel size shows up in this editor as much smaller, extending only to the 'k' in the word 'clicking' in the line directly above it. It'll be interesting to see if it's size normalizes when I submit post.

Lately, I am constantly being forced to sign in using the mobile app on my iPhone.

On the app some threads are showing nothing but empty gray screen. One example is the "Any sighting of Demo iX3s in the US??" thread. It appears fine on the internet, but not in the app. Any idea what's causing this?

Yes that's an issue specifically to do with threads that have polls in them, I actually submitted the update that fixes it, so it should hit the App Store soon (within a day or two hopefully)

Hi, I can’t reply to posts anymore. The usual text box where I draft reply’s just isn’t there on browser.

On the contrary, I can now reply in the app which I could not do before haha. Although I can’t say if the change happens simultaneously. Maybe the app worked again befor the issue I now have on browser.
