1-series seats in 2006 z4?

Has anyone tried installing 1-series seats into their z4?

Reason I ask: occupancy sensor is wack on my passenger seat. Went to an indy shop. He said he has '10 1-series seats in coral red (look awesome) 5k miles and could try installing them. The connections all look the same, they have a OC3 sensor built into the pad. If they dont work, he will not charge me. He is known for being a "code master" so maybe he can recode some things if there are issues....

Should you decide to go ahead with it:
Let me know if this install works out...as well as if it is a bolt on/snap on/non-mod of connectors installation/codes/Etc. ...

If you do not go with it:
May I get the shop number and POC.

Thanks!

Please update this thread, I have been thinking about the same mod. I have tried the 1 series sport seats and they are amazing, and for some reason BMW does not offer the M sport seats for the Z4 Coupe as an accessory, so this is a possible way to go, give they can be installed relatively easy.

Does the 1-Series have the air bags built into the seats?

What are you doing with your old seats? Will you sell the seatbelt holders off of the seats?

Boys and Girls, the 1 series seats FIT in the car, rails match up fine. BUTTTTT the seats have their own seat module which the e85 does not have (under the seat). The shop could figure something out --> splicing wires etc, but he said it could take up to 10 hrs of labor. Unfortunately I am not going to go with those seats....but i did found a pair of m-seats

Actually, if you just want sport seats, there is another way that I have discussed with the people in the dealership and they all agree it would work. Instead of replacing the whole seat, it is possible to get only the cushions from the sport seat and use the existing mechanism (if it is electric).

I kinda figured this wasn't going to work.... the electronics in these cars are usually designed for the specific model and sometimes are even specific by model year. I think even if you had a programmer at the company that made the electronics it would be a challenge. Good try but a tough one to execute.

yeah...I was sad.

But I did pick up a set of msport seats with 5k on them!

I like!

The car was salvaged. The seatbelt tensioners were used. Installed the seats and was all happy then I saw the damn Light of death. Good ole INPA saved me. Just took the tensioners off the old seats.

debating if I should try to sell the old seats or make a arcade racing setup for Gran Turismo 5
