E89 M bumper to E86/85 - done

Hi mates! Want to share with you some experience of fitting E89 bumper to my E86 (3.0si). I don't see a reason to do this for Z4M owners, but for guys like me - it was even cheaper conversion than buying an original M-bumper (also I could not find any replicas).
So here is some pictures that I've done:

The main problem is that E89 and E86 bumper - are to different. And the only way to do it right was to cut it in such way: (also it saves original way of bumper installation)

More pictures to come in few days after I'll install grills in side holes.

I always wonder how strong these combo bumpers are.

Was it plastic welded or fiberglass?

I'd be glad to help, but I'am from Ukraine and it will cost a lot of money to ship a bumper. So you should find a local master that could handle some plastic magic ))) I think in US - there are more experienced and qualified people that works with bumpers and plastics in general.

R18 9.5j ET22 with Federal RS-RR 245/35/18 - front
R18 10.5J ET20 with Federal RS-RR 265/35/18 - rear
But you'll need to roll your fenders with same level of aggression )))) Also I welded out all the connectors/bolts of rear fenders near the door and side skirts. I'll send a photo later.
Rear wheels where sitting something around 35 mm out from rear fender, when I've just installed the wheels.

I'll ask a guy who did all the job.

I absolutely love this. Thank you for posting! Interesting how it was done, came out great. I had considered (for a very short time) trying to retrofit the E89 Tommy Kaira Rowen bumper to the E85.

All in all looks fantastic, thanks again for sharing. Would love to see a few more shots

Crazy how the body lines match up perfectly with the bumper. This is perfect!

It’s a drama with lots of old posts, which is why if you’re posting pics these days you should use the internal pic service.
