dammmmmn, i am jealous!!!
this has to be the nicest oem wheels for the coupe less the the csl/zhp, and i could even argue these are just as nice since they're not as common (and replicas haven't flooded the market yet). i am more convinced that i want these as a 2nd set! assuming you went with stock tires of 225/40 and 255/35? That looks just stunning. But with a little lowering and some paint on the reflectors you have really nailed it.

although one of the best looking oem wheels to go on the Z, cant deny they look like amg wheels which isnt a bad thing as amg wheels are rather cool, still, wanted to point tha observation

ya caught me! Quote:
rear ~ 23.4 lbs i do want to lower it; however, i don't want to go any lower than 1.0" front or rear. i'll have to do some searching to find the right set of coils. no no no... amg wheels look like bmw 313's!

I have to agree those are great looking wheels. So much so that, I just put a set on my 335i coupe. Decided to go 18" and light wheeels on the Z4, thus the OZs.

Similar to AMG in the double spoke design, but the curvature of the spoke makes all the difference whereas AMG wheels are more "flat"

the 313's look great, very classy finish and subtle concave on the rears. know these are oem's but for anyone interested, miro makes a style 313 rep - http://www.**********s.com/Miro-Type-942.htm

1) user posts (here and on other forums) regarding specifically the finish on the miro 942's (other wheels from miro appear to be unaffected), consisting of poor quality and durability over time, and also miro's unwillingness to repair, replace, or reimburse a customer. however, i have seen substansial praise given to **********s in their response to customer issues. the short of it is though... why mess with it at all? 2) for non-///m cars, an 8.5" et35 in front is a bit wide for 225 tread. without camber modifications, 235 tread will rub when turning. i am unwilling to deal with that. those zed4 owners with lowered cars most likely will not have issues with it though. 3) for non-///m cars, a 9.5" et40 is past the rear fender line on stock suspension. again, not an issue if the car is lowered. i do like a flush stance when it comes to wheels, but not at the expense of tire life due to camber craziness, especially for my daily driver. 4) the spokes on the 942's are thicker than the 313's, while the machined edge of the lip around the outside of the wheel is thinner than the 313's. from a distance, the 942's give the impression that there is no lip at all, and the car is rolling only on the spokes. imo, it's quite distracting, and takes away from the overall appearance of the car. (i.e. that car has custom wheels vs. those wheels were made for that car.) also, the angular change in the sweep of the spoke does remind me of the previously mentioned amg wheels. ... all that aside though, the 942's are certainly less expensive, unless of course you have to buy new tires at the same time. if that's the case, spend the $50 or whatever it is for a bmwcca discount, and get a set of oem 313's. for those interested in 19" 313's...
e9x fitment is perfect for non-///m cars. front = 19.0" x 8.0" et37 rear = 19.0" x 9.0" et39 this is slightly less aggresive (-3mm) in the front, and slightly more aggressive (+4mm) in rear, when compared to the 18's at the top of this post. they're forged BBS, and all they cost is money.
