to reinforce the area it would need to be proper weldin/on plates, if i see a failure with the stock units in place i'll re-inforce mine.

The only practical solution/fix is a welded reinforcement. The metal in the stock frame around the mounting studs fatigues.

If you were to fit a pair of rectangular shaped shims with holes for the bolts between the car chassis and the brackets, when the brackets are fastened on tightly, this would provide reinforcement to the chassis without the need for welding.

for lasting protection against fatigue, imo welding a proper solution inplace is the only REAL solution and will safe guard this part of the car.

If your cars on stock bars (which i believe are thick enough imo) this isnt an issue, id rather tune the setup with a proper coilover and spring rate setup.

Well, clunk, clunk, clunk, mine ripped out on the driver side.

3rd case documented. Seems to be a regular case with every performance BMW I have owned.

Yes. Drove the Delta again. I guess it's not smooth enough for upgraded bars. I believe we will see failures with stock bars when these chassis hit 100,000 miles. It is amazing that it lasted this long after looking at it.

Have you been running upgraded ARBs? If so, how many miles with this configuration?

Ugh. The Delta certainly isn't smooth, but them again that's true of just about every road in CA. I was in the East Bay last week on 680 between Concord and San Jose and yikes!

Looks like a spot that should be reinforced if one is keeping the car awhile even with stock bars as you suggest. Ian, thanks for the link (great template there to from Exdos).
