Curious question
Is this going to be a standard offering or just a short production run

I don't know. I'm not sure how many items the mould can make before a new mould needs to be made. I assume they don't last forever? So, there would have to be enough interest in a second run to justify making a new mould.

The E46 community is much bigger than ours and if they want this kind of thing, they could drive more production.

You make a good point on the e46 community. I hope they get on board.

If my eventuri Intake made such a difference on the sound, I imagine the airbox will be wild

Hopefully - it’s worth a try. Still need a few more people but I will post on NAM3 now I have a price.

The thread on NAM3forum is now live. Any suggestions for other places to drum up interest?

Hi there. Try the German forums, like zroadster. I can check some one out that organised an groupbuy for a gpower supercharger kit. Let me know if you want me too.

They already make an E46 CSL airbox so there should be a lot of transferable work.

https://karbonius.net/producto/bmw-m...ox-fullcarbon/

I had a Karbonius airbox on my E92 M3 and the sound is amazing. If(when) I get back into an E92, I will definitely buy another even at ~$3k USD all in.

For pricing, you have to add shipping and import duty taxes/customs fees, just a FYI, since it comes from Spain.

I'm sure there will be a lot of 'know how' overlap, but if they have to make a whole new mould, I'm not sure they would be able to reuse parts they have on the shelf (maybe a couple of fittings)?

That's a good point re shipping, duty and taxes. Hopefully people are mentally factoring that in when deciding if the price is reasonable to them.

Thanks, pwnsweet and alfadog - I’ve updated the list on page 1.

We have 16 now, so not far away.

We have reached 20 EOI. I’ll contact Karbonius to let them know.

I’ll continue to add EOI though - the more the better.

Karbonius has confirmed they will make a test plenum to check the viability of the project. There is no timeline yet as they need to see if any of the parts from their CSL intake can be carried across. I’ll post an update when I have more information.

I'm interested if there does end up being a nice sound improvement.
