What's your frame of reference?
Speed, comfort, features, handling, price etc The Z4 ended production in 2008 and the 370 started in 2009. There are some differences you will find between both. For pure value, you can beat an M coupe versus that Z car depreciation. If you're thinking of a regular Z4C and not the M....just get the Nissan. |

Do not, ask someone who owned one for about a year and a bit, and can't wait to get rid of it. (My kid being born gave me the reason)
On the plus it looks great, and up here anyways, gets lots of admiring glances and compliments especially with nice wheels and lowered, my Z4M never get any attention. It maybe a 09+ car, but it is on the FM platform, for all intensive purposes, the 370Z traces many of its parts to its past, and it REALLY shows, the diff for example traces its roots back to the 240SX, from the early 90s -depreciation. Unless you happen to find a v2 Nismo -VQ is very unrefined compared to even the N52, and nowhere near as exciting as the S54 -VQ overheats its oil in traffic, an oil cooler is absolutely required even for a daily driver, especially if you are down south -Slave and master are horribly unreliable -370Z steering is vague even for a hydralic rack, i especially detest this one, it locked up mid corner at the track for me, with my preggo wife next to me, it pretty much sealed its fate for me -370Z features 'ice mode', constant hard braking from lapping will render the nice looking big brakes useless due to lack of venting, how they never found this during testing is beyond me -Nissan is a company that NEVER correct any issues, they resolved the steering wheel lock issue by just removing the feature, the oil temp, brake issues all remained up to the car's demise Personally, if it is a weekend car you want to drive down the fancy street in your city to show off, mild grand touring runs, or run with the takeover crowd while vaping out the window, 370Z does these things fairly well, its a car that is most comfortable at 5/10s

Ok - I'm gonna be "that guy" and wreck havoc in this thread. I've got a deep seeded issue with people misusing common phrases and if you think I'm gonna drop this, you've got another thing coming. The phrase is "FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES". It's not all one in the same as "intensive purposes" (or even intensive porpoises). I felt like I needed to step in and nip it in the butt even though supposably I could care less. Please precede. Oh, on topic - Z4C all the way over the 370Z. Not that I'm biased or anything......

I am sure the answers will differ by which forum this question is asked.
I like the Z4c but it will always remain under the large shadow of the Z4MC.... like the oft forgotten middle child that performed well but not excel. I hate to explain why it is not an M. The 370Z is a JDM brute. I enjoyed driving it but realized during my prolong test drive, the novelty will wear off and it was frankly a tiresome thing to drive around on tight roads at slow speeds. It depends on what you're looking for. |

Glad you took that in the right light. I've been a little grumpy today and I do stuff like that occasionally to get in a better mood.

When I was looking for a fun car, I had my eyes on a G37, which I feel is a much nicer vehicle than a nissan, but then I saw the E86 and that was all it took and the E86 was mine. Then the 370z came out, so I went for an extended test drive in one and it just didn't do it for me. So if you're considering a 370z, check out the G37 too, but IMHO, neither will compare to a E86 which is a pretty rare vehicle and will hold its value.

Rotaries, as in engines? You are asking the wrong people about the wrong cars in the wrong forum. (Hope the pedant finds no harm here...)

Curious! What do they say? Always thought the Rx cars were cool myself and a buddy of mine has one that he would not part with for any amount.
