Brake reaction time test

This doesn't really "fit" here but I couldn't find a better place for it....

The 49 ms is either luck, timer bug, or repeated attempts at starting the action before the halt sign.

That's approaching where factors like framebuffer compositing latency, monitor input lag, and keyboard/mouse event latency are significant.

I’m 44 and got a 22 year old reaction speed first two times. Third time I was 18, then fourth time 222 milliseconds. I think the most accurate time is your first one, we’re obviously improving with more practice and knowing what will happen.

Maybe all those first person shooter games I play paid off!

Around 300 ms is not awful if you are doing it honestly.

You might be able to take 6-40 ms off that depending on the monitor you use relative a more ideal case. Most monitors have at least a couple of frames of input lag. I can reliably hit mid 200 ms, but I know that my monitor has very low input lag relative to most on the market.

If you are using a USB keyboard or mouse then you may have a further small delay. The typical polling rate for a non-gaming USB HID peripheral is 125 Hz, so in the worst case scenario your button press happens right after the edge of that interval and you could get an additional 7-8 ms of latency.

Probably does. I'm 36 and have similar results. I would guess that an 18 year old version of you would do even a bit better.

237 here, got the "We're not sure if you're an actual human being."

Repeated 3x, got 2xx twice and 317 once (20 year old).

Not bad for eyeballing my 40s.

So basically everyone here has a reaction time of someone in their mid-20s or younger. Seems legit. Haha.

It's on the internet so of course it's legit! Plus some of us are clearly not human so your human years mean nothing to us!

.322 after a bottle of wine reactions of a 36 yo, I'm 50.

Will do it again after some coffee in the morning. (It'll be worse no doubt and that will really frustrate me)

Brown trouser moment right there, I'd be pitting and going home as the "luck" tank is currently on empty having used it all up.
