hello. new to the forums but ive had my z4 for years. Its an alpine white 3.0si coupe with 6mt and sport options (with red leather interior). I used to have a z4 convertible before that. I love the way the coupe looks and thinking about selling it. I made an account here so that maybe i can get back into loving it like when i first got it, but i think as im getting older and my gf and i talk more about marriage, might be time to get a sedan we'll see. anywhoo hello

What does age and marriage status have to do with how much you like the car? If the girlfriend doesn't like it maybe it's time for a new one of those instead. At any rate welcome to the forum. Your car is exceedingly rare, and would bring a good dollar on Bring a Trailer if you were so inclined. But I hope you keep it and enjoy our fine company instead!

Thanks. Its got a salvaged title from a wreck when it was a baby (around 16,000 mark), and its now at about 95k miles. A lil scratched up so i dont think BaT would fetch a high price, but ya i still enjoy it. I guess the gf can have the sedan and i can keep the z and get another car on the side.

Added a Cold Air Pkg. and Schnitzer pedals, and front facia lip saver.

Feedback on Upgrades to date:
*Cold Air Intake sounds great, not sure it added any HP.
*Schnitzer pedals look great, and easy to install.
*Frant facia lip spoiler is a good idea.

Have already done a Track Day @ Gingerman Raceway. Handles great, and w/DSC on you cannot get om trouble. Turn the DSC off, and you better know how to dirve.

Looking for any feedback on upgrades done by others, and tech. tips.

A very rare bird! Manual or automatic? I had one alongside my Z4MC for about a year, never could quite decide which keys to reach for.

There's a "middle" DSC setting on the non-M models that I found to be very nice. It doesn't intrude as early with throttle cuts, and lets you drive the car harder while still having a nanny. Give it a try.

Hi everyone, New Z4 owner from Scotland.
I recently picked up a 2006 2.5i.
Car is mechanically sound and the bodywork’s pretty good. Just have some age related issues to tidy up

My understanding you can program that setting on an M as well. But yes its not available by default. I tried a lap without DSC couple weeks ago and quickly lost it in a corner and slid all over. Apparently I don't know how to drive yet Going to do the programming before next track day and give it a whirl

New-to-me 2006 Z4C 3.0Si MT

Hi All,

I recently joined the ranks of E85/E86 owners. My new-to-me Z4C is a Montego Blue 3.0Si with manual transmission and a little over 80K miles. I was looking for an E89, but I'm really happy with my Coupe. I only came across it because a good friend kept bugging me to look at E85 roadsters, and this E86 happened to get included in my search.

I have E46 and E9X Bentley manuals and experience with the E46 and E88 chassis. I have BimmerGeeks Protools - but I've discovered Protools doesn't support the E85/E86 chassis. I guess I will be seeking help on how to diagnose and code with the raw tools.

Nice car! And rare. 800-ish manual coupes were made for North America. Looks like it has M Sport suspension too, a very nice thing. Congratulations!

Greetings wdb -
For the unlearned (that would be me) does the Si designation quantify M Sport suspension?

Nope. M Sport suspension and M Sport seats were among the available options. (I believe there was a package that included both?) My 3.0si coupe had the suspension but not the seats -- I found a pair on eBay and put them in myself.

Those wheels are the hint I'm going by in the case of this car. A VIN check would confirm.

Hello, people!

Recent (as in, today) owner of a 2006 Z4 M Roadster. Reading the manual to figure out what all the buttons do, but pleased as punch to be an owner of such a fantastic vehicle. Here to learn. Glad to meet you all!

Shouldn't take long -- there aren't many buttons. The minimalist control setup is one of the things I love about the car; keeps the driver focused on the drive. Congratulations and welcome!

Welcome - I joined this site in Dec 2009 and purchased my Z4MR in Mar 2010.

Did you purchase locally?

I'm in Gig Harbor - you're in Seattle?
