Interesting week for Z4's on BaT

M Coupe sells for a respectable price.

Supercharged roadie and another M Coupe up for auction now.

Thanks for sharing. I followed BaT for many months last year looking roadsters and coupes until I finally negotiated a fair price from a dealer. It's great to get a sense of worth compared to how much I paid.

Interesting that the Sliver Gray 2007 M coupe with 44k miles went for $31K and the Black M coupe with 67K miles is already at $25K with six days left...

Watching the auctions on BaT is always interesting and the comments section is always a treasure trove of wonderful/awful tidbits.

It does seem like there has been a bunch of Z4 sales lately. Overall the prices seem pretty steady although I was a bit surprised that Sliver Gray 2007 M coupe with 44k miles went for north of 30K.

I"ve always said, that this car requires the right time and right buyer. If you look at the bidding trend, there was three serious buyers bidding against each other right before the auction stopped. I'll bet two of the bidders that lost out on the silver one is bidding against each other on the black one right now.

A good example with reasonable miles SHOULD fetch over $30K right now, if a seller is patient to wait for the right buyer to come along.

What do you guys think a 2008 space gray/imola 57k mile m coupe will fetch nowadays? This is a rare combo last i checked, no nav either.

Very clean interior, new BMW steering wheel, filters, fluids, p/s hose, etc. Doing the windshield gasket, beisan vanos rebuild, valve adjustment spark plugs, valve cover gasket, cpv seal and lower control arm bushings on it one of these weekends when i get time. Just curious what you guys think this may bring if i were to list it on BaT.

Not sure I want to sell yet but the values seem to have firmed up recently and it may be something to consider.

Interesting to see the supercharged Z4 not fetching more. Though, who knows what will happen in the last few hours.

BaT is not a good forum for selling modified cars

Hard to say on BaT. If it were mine I’d try private sale first and probably price 30K+.

The black car went for $27K and change. I'm starting to think BaT is NOT a good place to try and sell your "unique" BMWs.

This M1 and E30 M3 both went below market value.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1980-bmw-m1/

1 owner, original miles, in great running condition. This car should have fetched half a mill EASY. BaT didn't even crack $400K. I actually know a guy who's a friend of the 1st owner.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-bmw-m3-26/

Someone stole this one for $38K. Rule of thumb is, right now, $65K minus $$$ needed for repairs regardless of miles, anything less than 100K miles. That car did not need an additional $20K worth of work. Heck it may not even need $5K worth of work.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-bmw-m3-24/

This one is one owner, meticulously cared for, and barely brought home market value. I thought this one would have sold for higher. Same deal, the same guy I know knows the 1st owner of this car. Enthusiast Auto could have bought this car for the same $70K and turned it around and sell it for $120K.

The silver interior trim on the black car was not doing it any favors with brown seats, carbon would have raised the value. Ultimately extended leather improves the luxury feel of the interior at the cost of adding the navigation system...

I would also like to add BaT has a 5% buyers fee (up to $5K max) that is never mentioned in the "sale" prices quoted.

that e30 m3 was a screaming buy.

what do you think that black one should've brought? with the buyer premium, it sold for ~$28.500. I personally think the biggest detractor for it was the mileage, not the trim, and the fact that it had no vanos work done.

It has a rare color combo though, dark sepang interiors are RARE. I thought, based on the grey one fetching ~$32k, that the black one would crack $30k.

And the gray one had those wheels. I thought the black would come close to it too.

BaT is weird for Z3 and Z4 prices. About the only dependable one price-wise is S54 Z3M coupe; they always go big.

I am preparing to sell my 3.0si coupe but I don't know if BaT is the place to do it. Still hem-ing and haw-ing.

Agree. I was sure it was a low $30's car. BaT is weird though - I think location helps for some cars (IE: California) and even auction timing to hit the workday hours across the US. Plus, a good seller with records and the ability to handle a camera helps. Before I bought my Z4M I was in the air-cooled Porsche market and similar cars would go off the rails for seemingly no reason besides irrational bidders.

Black sold for 27K. Higher mileage made that about right
