As the title says. This is the steering wheel that is nearly identical to the Z4M cars but it has black instead of tri-color stitching. Leather in excellent condition. Plastic very good condition with a few scratches here and there. $325.00 shipped OBO.

So is this an original Z4M wheel, or why is the stitching black and not M tri color? Is it the same girth as the OEM wheel?

This is an "M-Sport" Steering wheel, which was sold as an accessory for the Z4's. It's identical in girth/size/etc to the Z4M wheel with the only difference being the stitching color. It's noticeably thicker to the standard wheel and really feels great in your hands. The standard airbag from the existing wheel fits.

Hmm, interesting - both z4m's that I've owned came with black stitching ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe the tri-color was only for certain years? Both of my cars were/are 2006. Maybe it's exclusive for coupes? Both of mine were/are convertibles.

The takeaway is - this might very well have been an actual original z4m wheel.

Mine's a Roadster, manufactured in March 2006. Came with the tricolor stitching

Ahh sorry, I was talking out of my a** - looked at it closely today and it is indeed tricolor, just really faded / dirty - so almost black; but at a really close look you can make out the colors. Never mind!
