Paint Cracking

Regarding 06 Z4M. Is the paint cracking something that happens with factory paint or a sign of repair?

Is that the clearcoat?? Could the wheel have been stressed in that section from running over something advers like a curb, etc? Not saying the wheel touched the curb like "curb rash" but from something as I described.

Are other wheels like this?

Thanks for your reply, other wheels each have some degree of cracking. Wondering if anyone has seen this with factory wheel finish.

My wheels had this exact cracking but they had been refinished at one point. Sold em and got aftermarket wheels.

My OZ Ultraleggera aftermarket rims are factory painted black with a clear coat and look as-new eleven yrs later.

I've been told the clear coat crack because the paint didn't cure enough between layers. I'm talking about the cure time between primer - piant - clear coat, not the time between layers of each component. Eg. if you apply clear coat before the paint have cured enough this will happen.
