Rain shows the better driver because of the following:

More demands of the driver to balance the throttle inputs
More demands of the driver to find and utilize available grip because of a major reduction in the coefficient of friction which negatively affects the mechanical grip
More demands of the driver to find optimal braking inputs

Why do you think Sir Lewis is the best rain driver in the current field?

He put his stamp on that accolade in his first season in Fuji 2007 and performed at an amazingly high level, but for one race, since that time. His best Opus was Turkey 2020. No one was close and all of the pundits who laid wreaths at the False Driving God, Verstappen, on Sunday were proven spectacularly wrong on Sunday.

Like you, I can't wait for the season to start.

It's a damn shame we don't get to see Russell shine. That's how bad the Williams car has been. I thought with a closer technical partnership with Merc, they'd be competing with Aston Martin at least. But no, there they are at the bottom competing with Haas.

Ricciardo will beat Bottas for 2nd. Inevitable.

There is an interesting article with quotes from Russel on the 2021 Williams.
Apparently they have gone for a highly wind sensitive design that should perform very well at some tracks and poorly at others...depends on the weather and the track one assumes.
The idea being to get a few good results and score points at the expense of rubbish results at the rest.

Lets see this season with Perez, he had 2 team mates which aren't pancakes : Ricciardo and Sainz and both where slower in identical cars. In most races quite a lot at the finish line.

Driving in the rain you need even more a stable predictable car , for sure the red bull of last years was not. Please ask Gasly or Albon.

Still you don't here me saying he is a driving god. Above average and same level as Lewis , Senna , Schumacher etc.

Just hoping the RB en Merc are equal cars and we can see some wheel banging racing this year and quite sure its between those 2 again.

Four times champ Vettel (in the dominant RB car) couldn't so having multiple titles hold little value to me.

As said in my first message here : I'm not a Max nutty (im dutch, he is from Belgium) . He makes races more entertaining to watch.

Its more complicated due to the major advantage of the Merc car , without the Merc car he would be a single champion (his own words even) and whoever got his car would be the multiple champion, maybe even Bottas.
Having the dominant car is a bless but also a curse, he cant show his potential.
Russel showed this clearly (and the performance level of Bottas too).

Only challengers of Mercedes is Max and Vettel in an illegal Ferrari a few years ago. Even with the (not the best Renault engine) he was able to do this and outperform a very strong team mate (Ricciardo) in training and races.

For sure made the sport more attractive , that's a win for all of us.
Having a front row battle between Max and Lewis would be great , I even dont care about the end result.

Oooooooo. I had not even considered this. In my dreams this would happen, but I do think It will be Ham and Max in the top 2 this year.
