Question to make things clear to me , why is this Verstappen bashing going on here?
Particular by Lewis fans.
Maybe he is hyped but for years the best non Mercedes driver by far and the only one Lewis takes seriously as a contender.
I don’t know any Verstappen fans who are bashing Lewis. There is much respect for him here in the Netherlands also due the lack of a familie fortune and skin color which didn’t make it easy at all.

If you admire on, why bash another?

You're new here. Please go back and read the threads and you will see why there is so much rancor with regard to the posts about Max.

And I don't THINK Max is hyped. He actually is the most hyped driver that I can remember...particularly since he doesn't have the results to back the hype.

Hamilton 7 DWCs..Verstappen 0
Mercedes paid a lot extra to have Hamilton..they were not interested in Verstappen.
PU power..totally legal
DAS..perfectly legal.
Magic/jet mode...*ALL* teams had different engine/hybrid strategies for qualifying and the race. The rule change to make teams use the same strategy for qualifying and the race made no difference to results.
Red Bull also have ribbed rear wheels.
Dash light system that predicts the red lights going off... LOL ffs how dim are you. How do you think that works...given that the change from 5 red lights on to lights off is controlled by a random system?

If you and the other half wit stuck to supporting Verstappen rather than obsessively slamming other drivers and teams then this sub forum would be a way nicer place

My opinion : besides driving a fast lap a champion needs to have more capabilities.
Managing and motivating your team (are you listening Alonso?) and get in the best available car. (Good switch from Ricciardo from Renault to mclaren, they look faster)
The switch from a winning car (mclaren) to a midfield (Mercedes) was a smart one not taken on blue eyes stories alone, nobody expected a 7 year domination though.
I like about Max is that he tries to shape Red Bull to a winning car , not chicken out and complaining blaming everybody besides yourself. Like to see the progress, offcourse the deep Red Bull pockets and the Honda effort are helping too. And not many better options.
We are lucky that we have Lewis and Max racing in the same era forgetting we have 3 more F1 world champions on the grid next season, we are spoiled kids.

Please watch races and enjoy the fast laps, yes laugh at mistakes but no silly bashes. That’s reserved for the soccer fan base, we are better I think.

The 2009 season tells anyone with observational skills that it's more than just the car. In 2010 and 2012 he was the one taking the fight to RBR. Look at the record.

He is 5 of 7 vs other WDC drivers in the same car. But for reliability he'd be 6 of 7.

Sir Lewis is a force of nature in Formula One. I will quote something said by 3 separate people, in almost the exact wording, who have forgotten more about F1 than everyone in this thread:

All said at separate times by the following:

Ross Brawn, 8 WCCs, 3 separate teams. Recruited not-then-Sir Lewis to Mercedes
Fernando Alonso, 2 WDCs, 2 WCCs
Sebastian Vettel, 4 WDCs, 4 WCCs with your pet team who spends more time complaining about the competition than working on their own car.

I won't get into the equipment b/c we both can see where that would lead into a dead end street and I'm sure like me you are craving for that Bahrain race to get nearer and..any ideas why Wolff has made himself scarce.

If your car is more than a second faster than all others it’s hard work not to get on the front row. So poles mean nothing, yes your better than your team mate.

You say that VER is young and getting better. That was HAMs 3rd season in F1. At that point he had a WDC under his belt. He was still on the upswing in his skill level. If you think 2009 HAM is better than 2021 Sir Lewis we probably don't need to discuss F1 any more.

2021 MAX is getting better in a FASTER car by the minute AND a more capable teammate to back up his RB team. As I said I'm not going to talk about race car tech from then until now and just let the car and track do the talking
