Blisten B16 install

Hello,

I’m planning on ordering the PSS10 for my Z4MC. Are there other parts I should replace/install at the same time? Adjustable camber plates, control arms, etc?

Thanks in advance!

Given the age of the car I would consider the following items

BMW front strut tower reinforcement plates (PN 51717036781)
BMW rear coil spring shims (PN 33531094518)
Sway Bar End Links (MEY-3160604607HD)
Rogue Rear Shock Mounts & reinforcement plate

Beyond that it is up to you and the current condition of you car. I also did the control arms, bushings, etc. but mine were TIRED.

Thanks for that! I noticed you didn’t list camber plates. We’re they not necessary?

I installed Vorshlag camber plates with mine (as with the other forum member's photo). I need the additional camber up front running 18x9 wheels and a track focused alignment.

Now would be the time to add them since you'll be in there and due for a ride height and alignment/corner balance potentially. Ground Control and H&R have solid options depending on your usage as well.

Cool...thanks for the info. I also plan to run 18x9 rims up front. I try to get everything in advance so I don't have to reinstall things. Thanks for the guidance!

Do the camber plates replace the oem mounts or do I still need the mounts?

They replace it, I would still run the strut tower reinforcement plate between the tower and the camber plate (fits and does not obscure alignment across)

I got my Vorshlag camber plates. They seem pretty solid. With the round plate on the top, are the reinforcement plates still necessary?

The Vorshlag setup is beefier than others. I still installed the reinforcement plates, cheap insurance while you are in there.

For the rear coilovers, do the perches sit on top or bottom. I have seen them both ways depending on different brands while doing a google image search. For the Bilstein b16s specifically, should they be on top or bottom?

Thanks

It should sit at the top with the rear coil spring shim (rubber insert) nested in the bottom.

Image from another Z4 forum

It may work the other way around but a spanner wrench would be tough to get in there.

Perfect. Thanks for the photo too. Looks like your car is pretty slammed based on that perch setting
