As the title says, I was able to retrofit and enable the rear fog lamp feature to my US/CN version Z4M

Just the left-hand side inner light comes on, it is like this by design, the only solution I found if you wanted both was to do some wiring, which I don't plan to do. is fine for me as is. The LSZ module uses the driving side to know what light to turn on, on RHD cars the right-hand side inner lamp comes on.

Was it something more than just the switch?

Switch and coding

For the switch I bought a EU version and just swap the faceplate as the light center module is matched to the VIN. I could of program the entire module But my WinKFP installation does not have all files. Swapping the faceplate saves the programming

That looks good man, I like it. For safety concerns, one side is good enough. I’m glad you mentioned coding is involved but what I was thinking is maybe I could order the European faceplate Like you did and run a wire to an aftermarket fog lamp in the center of the diffuser, kinda like a Porsche/370Z. Not sure how it’d look on the E85/6 but it’s worth a shot

LCM Faceplate

Hey, I know this thread is little bit old, but I would love to know, how did you swap that LCM faceplate? I have orange ribbon there and it's like glued together to the connector and I can't unplug it. Any advice would be great. Thank you

Hi. It is not glued, it snaps on. There are tabs on the side you can lift to remove it. Then the cable can be pulled off. You need to do this twice on each module to transfer the faceplate.

Just be careful, I broke one of those orange caps.
