Really digging this, anyone know more about this? I wonder how much a shop in the states would charge for something like this.

pretty expensive to find a good upholster stateside last I checked.

my drivers seat had the foam rip out of where the hog rings go so I looked into it.. just decided it was better for me to get 1pc cobra nogaros when I have the funds lol

if it was cheaper i would end up doing it.

Thoughts of doing same but wiring up heating elements is a lot of extra cost/effort.

On the note of fabric changes, found a company that offers replacement seat skins for the Z4 SPORT seats, which, as far as I know, have the same bolsters as us, it is just a change in how the seat skin its self is stitched together. Not 100% sure, I am sure someone on here knows and will correct me.

I'll be buying a set of their covers for the non sport, convertible E46 I got for my mother. Reviews are mixed as far as TIGHT fitment. No reports of the covers NOT fitting, just reports of them being tight.

I am familiar with hog rings and reapplying seat covers (did it a bunch at the Jaguar/Land Rover dealer)


EDIT: might ask them if they would make them without the sewn in piece on the bottom cover to match the Z4M seats.

Not sure if I will try them in my Z4M, time will tell.

I'll need to remove the lower cover to fix my seat foam anyways, so might as well reskin it if they fit good on my mothers E46.

I purchased some from Lseat in 2019. Their communication wasn't the best but the product turned out pretty decent especially at the price ($405 USD). They did them exactly how I wanted. It is very similar to 3002 tii idea (Diamond stitch and the contrast stithing). The pics attached are when I put them in. The leather has since conformed to the foam and you no longer see any wrinkles. Since the factory heated seats are sewn into the factory covers I decided to install after market ones. With the pic with my dog you can see where I installed the heated seat buttons where the shifter is.

Wow those look better than I expected. Do you believe it would be possible to keep the OEM heating element if the upholstery shop was willing to do the work?

The factory heated elements are sewn into the factory covers. The covers would need to disassembled in order to use them. Then the Lseat covers would need to be disassembled and have the elements sewn in. The time and cost did not seem worth it. I thought putting after market heated elements in was a better option. I just got an extra shifter surround to drill out so I still had my factory one and placed the switches there.
