Swaybar Weight
For those interested, before selling off my Turner Swaybar kit, thought I
would check out t the weight differences between stock, Turner and Hotchkis front bars. Both the Hotchkis and Turner bars are spec’d as E46 M3 Specific but fit the Z4m without issue. Stock front 14 lbs Turner 30.4 mm 18 lbs Hotchkis 30.6 mm 8lbs Turner Rear 25 mm 10lbs The Stock Rear Bar is on my car and never ordered the Hotchkis Rear, so couldn’t weigh this pieces Note: Hotchkis bar is Hallow, hence the weight savings. Let’s see how stiff it is once track season starts. |

From what I've read for the Z4 and E46 chassis, full stiff front, full soft rear and I've been happy with that for now. Have you tried soft in the rear? TC Kline racing actually recommends stock rear bar. |

When I had the Turner set up i did run the rear bar full soft and front either
Med or Hard. It worked well with a staggered tire set up. Once I went to Square set up, it was simply too much. I tried 5 - 6 different spring combos and found the rear end would on occation do a snap oversteer at the limit. Once I went to the stock bar this became a whole lot more controlable. |
