Racing Brakes Calipers, Rotors, and Wheel Studs Installed

Finally installed parts from RB GB. The front calipers will not clear OEM CSL wheels. I checked with 5mm spacers, but it just barely clear the calipers. Going to order 12.5mm spacers from Turner.

Do you plan to use OEM rotors with these calipers or the RB rotors?

Front and rear rotor and caliper upgrade? Pics?

What are the offsets for CSL wheels?

Calipers and rotors look damn good. How is the feel?

I only installed the front. Still waiting for rear calipers. RB said another 4-6 weeks because the powder coat failed QA.

Specs for OEM CSL
Front 81/2JX19 ET:44
Rear 91/2JX19 ET:27

I didn't have to cut the dust shield like adsingl on RB forum. It was flexible enough to wedge behind the carrier. I will post pics of the carrier and clearance with 5mm spacer.

Thanks for the post, and sorry to hear they won't clear cls wheels without spacer. Hopefully things will still fit well with a 12.5.

I just installed my front rotors today with the help of a friend. Does anyone know if RB fixed the pad issue on the rear rotors? Their website still states that the bottom of the pads needs to be trimmed 4-5mm. I'd like to go matching front and back, but not if I have to screw with milling the pads.

NM...

I just found the gb link on racingbrake for the rear rotors. They mention that the rear pads still have to to be ground down, though they offer a modified pad in ET-500. Looks like I will probably stay OEM on the rear. I'd hate to have to grind down the pads or be limited in which pads I can use.

Hey, good to see you back John!

I have to do a bit more research on the rears too. I'd like to be able to run PFC06s or DTC60s without a lot of hassle. RB seemed to be leaning towards making DTC60s fit.

Hope to see you at Thill either 27th or 28th of April!

nice

I bought the UUC Alcon kit about 1.5years ago and have had a lot of trouble on the track due to overheated rotors. Right now things are good using Alcon calipers and OE rotors with new brake duct work. How do these do on the track?? I didn't see this option when purchasing at the time.

Sorry for the thread jack, but can you elaborate on the brake duct work?

Would love to see ducting solution too. Can you start thread?

Here's DSC_OFF's solution.

Here's Exdos' M solution.

I can't comment on RB calipers or rotor. The front was purchased a few months ago. Its been sitting there waiting for he rear. RB inform me another 4-6 weeks. I needed front rotor replacement pretty bad. The rotor has 67k on them. I decided to install the front knowing there might be braking bias issue running OE rear.

HACK have positive review on the rotor at RB GB for E46 M3 ZCP thread.

2007 ///M Coupé  [10.00]
do you have pics from a distance with the wheel on? i'm seriously considering this upgrade and have it narrowed down to either ST or RB, but would like to see some more installed pics first.

have you had a chance to give these a real good run-down yet? what are your impressions?

TIA
-eric

brake duct work

sorry so late in replying, been offline for a while. pulled my invoice from Harrison Motorsports and part was $299, labor $357. I think if memory serves it was a Turner motorsports part also used in e46 M3 and they just figured a way to mount to z4m bumper at the shop.

since this done and car stripped down for weight, braked work much better with overheating issues. also, air flow reduces significantly the brake dust accumulation in csl type drilled rotors on track days. hope this helps -jon

Thanks for the pics. Do you get any rubbing on the duct tube?
