Irene is now gone....
Well, after about 24 hours of heavy wind and rain, Irene is now gone. Woke up this morning to blue sky's...
We did have some 100Mph gusts last night... Lost power around yesterday around 5PM. Hooked up the generator at 6AM this morning.. Power returned at 9AM. Both Z's holed up in the garage with the honda and the pickup parked in front of the garage doors... No damage. Lot of clean up to do this morning... Now watching the F1 Race and getting ready for my trip to CT. |

One of the reasons I put the other two cars in front of each garage door is it keep the excessive rain off the doors and to keep any flying objects from smashing through the doors. There are things in the garage more valuable than the cars parked on the outside.
For six solid hours the heavy winds/rain came directly from the east then slowly shifted to the north/northeast. My house squarely faces east. I only sit six miles from the ocean front so anything can happen. |
