Installing Hood Water Deflector Fasteners
Hi all! I recently noticed my car was missing a water deflector part number 64116924539.
I already found the deflector here and ordered a new one. But I'm not sure about the fasteners. I bought 51711958025 - but these are definitely not correct. When I look at the deflector on the other side it appears to be held in with little pins/rivets (without a part number of course). Any help finding these fasteners would be greatly appreciated! |

One or two??
Just checked mine and the passenger side has what appears to be a "leaf screen" that is rectangle in shape....however, there is no such device on the drivers side?
Following the lead of griebel's post (above), are there supposed to be two? Or, am I looking at the wrong part? The part I'm referencing is under the hood and located just very near where the windshield wiper arm attaches. Here's a pic of the passenger side "leaf screen" and driver side "nothing"....am I looking at the wrong part??

It is the black arch shaped part on the hood. Notice there is one on the pass side and holes on the right but no deflector.

Is it's purpose to deflect water into the black "trough" to properly drain out the drain tube(s)??

Calling other Z4 owners....
Could you take a moment and go check your engine hood for the black water deflector(s) that are mounted to the under-side of the hood - near the windshield wiper arms....and advise if you have two or just one - they are located in line with the steering wheel and passenger seat. Thank you - I outlined the water deflector on my passenger side, but it's missing from the driver side.

If you notice that rubber molding in the engine compartment on the pass side has quite a different shape than the drivers side. I think that may be why it's not on the drivers side.

Thank you Michael -

Perhaps the "pre-drilled holes" in the hood on the driver side is there for accommodating left hand drive and right hand drive cars?

Michael9218....
Kindly confirm there is no water deflector on the drivers side of a left hand drive car so we can sleep!
