First off, I'm not someone who spends a ton of time cleaning my car. I don't keep my cars that long anyway so not looking for Full PPF or detailophile level. I used the mobile detail guy in my area 3 times in 7 months on my white G80.

I'm looking for fairly easy to use products where I can in a couple hours on a weekend keep my PB/Tartufo G80 clean. I have an E70X5d I daily drive so it doesn't deal with too much bad weather but I do drive it in the rain. I live in NC so probably won't see snow...but may see the after effect from road residue.

Goals are:
Clean exterior
Clean wheels 826M Black
clean interior (nothing shiny)

There are sooooo many detail products out there man, you can find a million youtube videos and online guides.

What products to use and how to use them will depend on what your expectations are. Everyone has a different definition of "clean" or "good looking." Most people think their newish car looks good, but to someone like me, I see every little dent, swirl, etching, water spot etc.

Maybe start with what you're willing to do, starting with the car wash

1. someone lese washes it/drive through wash
2. single bucket/sponge super basic marr inducing quick wash
3. 2 bucket, high quality soap, long nap MF wash mitt/pad
3. Deionized water/professional tools/blah blah blah

Or if the car doesn't get too dirty, and you don't care about fine scratches, use a waterless wash method (detail spray/wipe dry) Super fast and easy.

The easiest car/wheels to clean are those that are ceramic coated, but that's quite an expensive proposition or a time consuming one if you DIY.

But if your wheels are coated, for example, you could just spray them with an iron X decon spray, then hose them off and not even touch them. Fast, easy.

Detailing can get so complex, it's hard to make suggestions when I don't know anything about you. It depends on budget, standards, time, use/environment.

For interior, nothing beats diluted P&S xpress cleaner on a MF towel (80/20, short nap [terry or pearl]) IMO

Don't buy into the detailing hype. Get some good stuff and some high quality microfiber towels and you'll be GTG.

Chemical guys make good stuff, as does griot's garage.

I'm in Cary, stop by sometime if you want to see what an OCD freak does without getting too carried away.

Update: I washed my car this morning, it took 10 minutes. Another 10 for the wheels (not barrels) admittedly not perfect on the latter. And another 10 to dry.

That's why I bought this watch, to time things for you guys and gals.
