New battery time (4.5 years). Went with another NAPA #9848, no issues at all with the previous one. I also pulled the alternator and changed out the voltage regulator with a new Valero one (80K miles). The job was extremely easy...up until aligning the lower bolt. That alone took about 15 minutes. Better have a deadblow hammer or a mallet!

Oh, also bought a new set of winter tires...... 2017 CPO.

Turner Motorsports CSL intake has been purchased! Now to figure out about tuning... most likely go with Epic.

I bought it a new garage mate on Saturday - a new '19 Golf R, replacing my '16 Golf R, that I had some long-term reliability concerns about due to a dealer screwup at the 30k service. So much car for $40k, and completely flies under the radar. Perfect companion for my Z4MC.

Very nice.... been thinking about what I’ll replace my i3 with next year after lease is up. The Mini ev is tempting but the R keeps popping up on my radar. My first intro to modding started on a 1.8T so still have a soft spot for VW.

Only issue with a with a growing family neither may be ‘big’ enough... why can’t the RS6 be priced at 1/3rd the msrp??!

PS - that backdrop makes me hate northeast weather even more.

I had my '16 R for 3.5 years and 50k miles before trading for this one. It was a GREAT car, hence staying with another one. The dealer failed to refill the rear diff at the 30k service, causing it to eat itself and require replacement along with a bunch of ancillary parts, and I feared possible long-term ramifications out of warranty, so I jumped on a new one before they go away. This is it for the current 7th gen Golf, and the Mk8 isn't coming stateside for at least another year, and an R isn't even a certainty - and if one is produced, it may be auto only. So now was the time. It's a fantastic all-rounder and if you are remotely interested, I highly suggest taking a test drive. Still lots available and some dealers are starting to offer some pretty juicy deals.

As for the backdrop - that's the Huachuca mountains in southeastern Arizona, right along the border, between Bisbee & Sierra Vista. Beautiful country out here.

Looks great!
Can you send the weblink where you purchased it - and for the side skirts too.

Here you go!

Skyer brand is on the forum, maybe shoot him a PM for availability, he typically sells through limited quantity group buys

suspension parts

Bought new Koni yellow adjustables, Suplex springs and all the suspension bits to replace the struts/shocks on the car. Should hopefully ride / handle like new when I'm done with the install.

I love my Weathertech mats. They even work with manual transmission, even though Weathertech says auto transmission only.

All I need now is some information on the harness for the hoist system. I have the hoist, just need info on the bracket/harness that attaches to the top.
