The cut area shown in the^ thread is a little extreem.
IIRC I notched mine little more than halve of what's shown.

I did the same. I just trimmed it to the same size as the OE. There's a tab that is about half back from the front on spot highlighted in the photo--I trimmed up to that point and stopped.

No. Poor clarity on my part (I edited the post above). There's a tab that is about half back from the front on spot highlighted in the photo--I trimmed up to that point and stopped. When you look at the OE, and line it up with the Aero, it will be pretty clear where to trim and stop.

I really dont see why bmw would discontinue them if there is enough demand to buy out the whole stock. Makes no business sense

Beedub it's on the backside of the top edge... not the front of the top edge! I got some pliers and did mine in about 30 seconds after it was painted. When you take the stock one off look at the backside and you'll notice a very slight difference in the shape. Trim the aero skirt to match this before trying to put it in. You end up cutting about a half inch square area. It literally totalled to about two snips with my pliers. If you don't do this the skirt doesn't push in far enough.

Anyone thinking of ordering the Aero parts should definitely get on it ASAP. I ordered mine 3 days ago and I recieved this e-mail yesterday saying "Left Side (Driver's)) side skirt are currently on national backorder from BMW. Typical backordered items arrive to our facility in 2 - 3 weeks from Germany."

huh either way ill match the stock sills at that top edge for perfect fitment :-)
i love delicate jobs like that.....

wont be long before these arn't available anymore.... lots of bits being discontinued by bmw for the z4's, these are the exact type of non essential bits that will be ended.....

same for the hardtops, wont be long before they all dry up.....

I've ordered twice from Tischer in the past few months, each time for a variety of parts. In both cases some of the parts had to come from Germany, and I was sent the above email. The parts came in and were shipped within that time frame - no 'out of stock' issues.
