hey there mate. Where in Syd are you based? I'm thinking of buying an Z4MC, but havent had the chance to be taken for a ride in one and seeing one up close and personal. I'm based in the Eastern subs if you're ever around? Dave

Hey Peter, thanks for the reply. Good to see there are actually some Aussies who visit this site. Would be great to catch up when you're free. I'll be down south Syd (Shire) on Sunday if you're around? My 130i is a deep red, not the standard red colour. I have a set of 18' CSL reps on it and tints. Will have to sell it in order to buy a Z4MC, but need to be taken for a drive in one before I decide to sell it. Tossing up between a Z4MC and a Porsche Cayman, however the Cayman is a lot of extra $$$$ so not sure if I can stretch anywhere near that territory. What colour is your Z4MC?

hey,i should be around in the arvo, sort of lunch time onwards. my z4mc is interlargos blue. one of my mates has a cayman s, i havent really spoken to him about it but have mention doing a drive swap through the park, and he seemed keen. ive driven a new shape boxster and thought they were a real nice easy to drive fast car, but definatly doesnt have that special feeling of the z4m. depending on your driving style i spose, but i like it a bit lairy, and the z4 provides that , the cayman is so benign on the limit.

anyway you can get me on peter@pkdc.com.au and we can make plans from there

peter

Was taken for my first ever spin in a Z4MC on Sunday (thanks Pete!). Wow what an awesome beast of a car, absolutely loved it. I’m sold on one, just need to find one now.

Hi there mr_130i_oz, saw your message and thought I'd introduce myself...new owner here of an '07 Z4MC - Sapphire Black with Black leather carbon interior trim, from Lower North Shore in Sydney, had it for less than a month...Like you I also had a 130i (in 6MT) which I've loved every minute in the last 3 years, but the temptation to jump into ///M ownership was too much to resist. Haven't really had a chance to do much 'spirited' driving as yet, but I had the oil/filter changed on the car last week and now I'm ready to hear that glorious S54 engine singing into the upper rev ranges!!

Always keen to meet up with fellow Z4MC owners in Sydney - these are rare gems, pure drivers' cars that epitomise the ///M philosophy to the core!

Hey mlfc_130, thanks for the message. I'm still in my upgrade 130i (6MT). Looking at getting a Z4MC in the not to far distant future. Only ever been in one once before, you should take me for a spin. I live in the east. I'll PM my email address to you. Cheers

Don't have a CM ... but I do have 2 Z4 Coupes ... titanium silver and silver grey --- great for matching my mood. The silver grey works better by night: more batmobile-ish, and the titanium silver works better by day.

The real reason I have two is ... some silly girl (most likely on her iPhone) went through a red light and ... well I did my best ... braked ... but nothing I could do to avoid the prang ... She lost points ... and her car ... and smashed the front of mine up. It was a beauty --- the titanium silver one ... only 12000 km on the clock ... kept and used as a collector's car. It may possibly have had the lowest mileage in Oz?

And after the crash ... well, it is quite repairable ... the front bumper/nose is history, and the front right side panel needs replacing .. and the radiator at the front ... the sub-frame is a bit off by 12mm (on the right) and 7mm (on the left) ... which is all repairable ... engine all perfect /untouched ... but it's really not going to be my dream collector's car anymore ...

I managed to find another one with just 13,5ookm on the clock (silver grey) ... which was lucky because there are ONLY 2 others for sale in the whole of NSW. They really are very rare.

---

Soooooooooooooooooooo ... I think I am now going to sell the titanium silver coupe ... so if anyone is interested to buy same and do a repair ... or looking for a truly splendid (as new) 3.0si engine (completely unscathed --- with just 12500km on the clock, 6sp auto) ... please get in touch. I am probably looking for about $22-$25k for the whole car MY2007 ... with green slip until April 2012.

Driving their Z4s I spotted a silver grey Z4 Coupe (NBK-888 - or something like that) driving right behind me in my silver grey coupe ... in Moncur Rd in Woollahra today.

Yesterday, saw TWO z4 coupes also in Edgecliff / Woollahra. Saw one of them the day before in Plumer Rd Bellveue Hill. And there's a bluey Z4C I regularly see parked in Double Bay. That's a lot of random Z4 coupes in a couple of days.

Any people on here from Syd still? Noticed the thread but its been dormant for a while... Trying to work out the z4m coupe vs 335 argument... For and against.. Is there any point comparing a turbo vs non turbo here? And m-sport vs actual m-car...?
Expenses? Performance? Insurance?
Or am I missing the point here...

Yep, I am from narrabeen, but over in DXB for the foreseeable future. Uhmm questions, what is M-sports? As far as I know there are only 2 types of bimmers, m-bimmer and non m bimmer....

Expenses? They increase the faster you drive : )
Insurance? No idea.
Performance? Just go and test drive both, and see which one you like better. It's all rather simple : D

Where in Syd are you based?
