Photo Request: Black Wheels

Hey all,

I am struggling to find wheels I like. I was hoping some of you would post photos of your black wheels. I'm looking for 17" or 18". I've look on Tire Rack and just can't seem to find anything that grabs me. I have Jet Black paint, black top, black interior with tint and really wanted to go blacked out on it. Will probably go black grill as well.

Thanks!

Try the matte black BBS CH. They are pretty nice and have a nice dish to them.

black on black/white/red look best in my opinion. i have titanium silver and it looked ok considering i tints and other cf trim but i always thought those same wheels looked better on other colors.

the only thing that sucks about black wheels is unless the roads in your area are perfect, they will like scratch like any other wheel but unlike other wheels, you will see the silver underneath and the nicks are more visible.

My White M Coupe on HRE C20s. I went with a matte finished center / gloss lip to give the car a bit more contrast and show the details of the wheels a bit more.

Thanks for all the options! That black on black looks fantastic.

Doubledown, are those Ultraleggeras? I'm actually leaning toward those. Thinking about 18" staggered with Hankook V12 rubber.

yeah.. i have been getting with some vendors on here about options on black wheels for my roadster as well. About mid- march I hope to have it figured out and start the purchase. I must admit, the vendors that I have sent emails to have been EXCELLENT in their responses! Having been on other boards for other cars I have owned inthe past... We really have a good vendor community here.

So, looking forward to have black on black.

there are several options out there!

Yes they are, but I went with a square fitment of 18" but same wheels, same diameter, same tires. But the staggered fitment works perfectly on our cars, hubcentric and uses oem bolts. I really like the CF caps that came with them...

Hmmm, that's food for though. Squared actually is far more practical and looks pretty darn good.

bhoch, would love to know your results when you're done. I'm not in a rush to buy since there is still snow on the ground here and won't be able to put them on till April at the earliest.

I was actually considering getting M rims and doing the same as an option. Let me know if you do it. Would they have to sandblast the painted surface off first to powdercoat them? Would like to see if it's a practical option or if it just gets too cost prohibitive.

my initial quote from a local vendor here was about $100/wheel; that included chemical stripping and powder coating them (not sure if sandblasting is involved or not)...they said the process would take about 1 week

going to solicit quotes from several others before I make a decision but @ $400 it's a much more cost effective option than buying brand new wheels

That's not bad. I may have to get on the phone and see what they charge here locally. M Wheels are not too pricey. I may look into that route. Thanks!

The rims are just what I require for my E85 03 Z4 - What is the wheel make, model and size you have front & rear?
