Pulled the trigger on a 2007 M Roadster today

Well, I finally found the car I want, and paid too much to get it, lol . That's debatable actually, but I paid premium money for a 2007 M Roadster with 13,000 original miles, in mint condition. Car is silver grey with black nappa leather, premium pkg and Nav. I could have saved thousands and bought a car with 30 to 40K miles on it, but this car was showroom clean. It also has the CPO warranty for over two more years. Best part is my local dealer bought the car from the selling dealer and is trucking it down for me. Should be here next week. Now I will be needing the roadster solutions plexi windblocker. I also want to add the 6 disc CD changer, which I understand is somewhat of a hassel. I'd like the HD radio option as well. Any of you guys install that after the fact (yea I know, search is my friend ) Anyway, I've been lurking and reading for about a month, looks like now I can contribute some to the board. Thanks! Oh, if any of you know someone wanting a mint condition 2009 370Z, I have one for sale

Congrats on the purchase.

As far as the windblocker... search is your buddy. There is a terrific thread on a home made one.

http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthre...t=wind+blocker

I think is better than most bought ones, and much much cheaper.

Thanks for the welcome, will do some more search on that. I've actually been burning up the forum the last month behind the scenes, trying to learn as much about the car as possible

LOL, I'm old school to some degree. I actually have about 600 CDs, most of the top classic rock as well as deep cut/obscure classic rock, 80's, 90's, blues, jazz, big eclectic mix. What I like to do is save stuff to the computer then burn them to CD in MP3 format. At 256kb I should get pretty good sound and can get a lot of material (about 6 regular CDs worth) on a single CD, hence the changer angle to load up the car with my music. I really don't download online much. Hey, at least for an old guy I'm using the computer to record the stuff in MP3 format

Check the specs on the changer. Mine is a few years old, but the player in the dash plays MP3s, but my changer will NOT play MP3s.

I thought the 2006 forward changers (latest version) would also play MP3s:

I'll definitely have to do some homework before I pull the trigger on one of these if they won't play MP3s.

LOL, I also have boxes and boxes of mint condition vinyl from the 60's through early 80's............ need to sell this stuff and make some money. It seems analog is making a comeback, and some people are paying handsomely for mint condition classics.

congrats on picking up an m roadie, now post up some pics!

on a side note, u might notice tt playback through cd (original audio cd, not mp3 cd) is vastly superior in terms of audio quality to am/fm radio and aux input.

I, myself have over 250Gigs of music on my server. My iPod Classic 160 only holds 155Gig.

With this setup, If I need to replace some music in the iPod, it only takes about 10min. and I can select any album on the iPod in a blink of an eye...
Plus, I also use it for audio books on long trips....

Something to consider... CD's are very bulky...

Very true, a stealth install (glovebox?) might work. Maybe it's time to rethink my options

That's what I thought when I had the 6 pack put in my roadster.
I was sorry I did that after owning the car for a while.

The changer takes up a lot of valuable interior storage space in the car, that I wished I had not given up.

& Congrats on the new roady.

Congrats on the "new" roadster! I have the Roadster Solutions wind blocker on my z4 and it works great. Was somewhat easy to put on also.

As others have said, the iPod is the way to go here. You are converting to MP3 anyway so why not put them on an MP3 player instead of cd's and get a lot more storage capacity? The best integration solution is likely the Intravee II which will also allow you to hook up an HD radio receiver. Starscream has a couple of units in stock for $275. Congrats on your new car. I have a 2006 Z4M with 13K on the clock myself...

Congrats on the car! Interesting how you came from the 370z to the Z4M. I think they're very similar in terms of performance numbers. I sat in one and was astounded by blind spot---that 3/4 window is more worthless than the one in the M coupe. Otherwise, design is very similar IMHO.
